After a long day and a few hours of rest in the car, it was time to get back up and get the party started. With doors opening at 8 pm we were quickly rushed backstage to meet and take pictures of the first of many upcoming performers for the night, Trinidadian Soca artiste Patrice Roberts. Being the great performer that she is, she got the crowd jumpin and hands wavin' in less than 5 minutes.

She was shortly followed by the Latin American (though currently living in Miami) Reggae-Soul group Xperimento, who surprised with their amazing vocals and harmony. They put the music we know and love (SKA, Reggae, Hip Hop, Dancehall) all in one, and added a Latin twist to it. To keep the Latin vibe going, this time a bit differently, up came the local Bay Area group Bang Data, who played a selection of their Latin Alterative-Hip Hop Rock songs. Our guess, is that promoter Jonathan Mack was feelin' the Latin vibrations while organizing this party, because after all that came the Reggaeton duo Los Rakas from Panama. You could feel the energy in their music, and see it in their performance, and smell it in their sweat that dripped all over us because they were so close.

The last performance, that everyone has been waiting for, finally came. With a packed house, Alborosie came up onto the stage with his sweet vibrations, mellow moods, and upbeat instrumentals. His music apparently touched people so deep that one guy in the crowd was trying to hand him an energy crystal throughout the entire performance. With flags hangin' up in the air, Alborosie put on an unforgettable show.

The party ended early in the morning, and left us with the thoughts that San Francisco Carnival had more to offer and we can't wait to see what's in store for it's 33rd anniversary.
