TJJ arrived on location and was able to pull quite a convenient parking spot close to the party’s entrance in a two ... two’s. Nice! Walking towards the front door, none other than General Grant came over to show some luv and pose with us in a few pics ... ha ha!

Proceeding past the front doors of the Ayva Center, we really got the see the magnitude of this venue. Wowsier! Down at the back there were a couple lounge chairs, with bars situated both to ones left and right. The washroom facilities were to the far right. Up front and center was the well illuminated stage spanning more than 10 meters in length. Overall it seemed to be quite an upscale, attractive and inviting venue.

Now the stage is where most of the night’s activities were going to take place, and as a result most patrons swarmed immediately around the front of it, leaving most of Ayva Center’s partying grounds uncharted. It was also not a massive crowd in attendance tonight, and the huge size of the venue only helped to highlight this fact.

During the course of the night we saw the likes of five performances, including NY based Trinidadian artistes Ragga ("Right Up In Dey") and Lyrikal ("All Over De Gyal"), but it was headliners Tallpree and Blaxx that really drove the crowd into a frenzy. Mr. Energy Tallpree came on first and belted out hits such as "Wicked Jab" and 2000 classic "Old Woman Alone" all to the crowds liking, especially his Grenadian people. Shortly after Tallpree closed off his set by demonstating the puppet dance and giving the crowd a taste of his latest release "Crazy", TnT soca artiste Blaxx of the Roy Cape family performed hits such as "Hunting", "Tusty" and "Breathless" all to the fans delight while hyping up the session.

After the party’s climax period which focused on stage performances, things began to slowly unwind. The life of the fete was returned into the hands of the DJs such as NY's Pantrin Vibez, 2009 International DJ of the Year DJ Stephen (who's left Atlanta and now resides in LA) and Houston's Mikey Faith who all continued to drop selections that ensured a happy partying audience. This was evident as folks raised their hands and swayed from side to side as certain tunes played.

Well as the hours crept by it soon became evident that it was time to go. Looking around the club was getting vacant. Also the signs of weariness were becoming more prominent ... some sleep was definitely in order.
