BRAMPTON, ON – August 2010
– West Fete is pleased to announce its first Caribbean Carnival Parade on Saturday, August 7th, at 10:00 a.m. starting at Country Side Rd., just west of Dixie Rd., scheduled to make its way along Country Side Rd. and finishing at about 1:00 p.m. at Heart Lake Conservation Area, located at 10818 Heart Lake Rd.

Once inside Heart Lake Conservation Area the West Fete Carnival will continue the festivities with live Caribbean performances, authentic Caribbean cuisine and a chance to cool down in the Wetland Splash Pad until 7:00 p.m.

“We’re delighted to bring West Fete Carnival to the city of Brampton,” says West Fete's CEO, Tish Guerin. “Today we’re celebrating our Caribbean heritage, our West Indian culture and promoting our diverse and multicultural community here in Brampton.”

“West Fete Carnival organizers, sponsors, performers, vendors and volunteers have been planning this event since August 2009 and we can’t wait to welcome Bramptonians and other Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents as well as those visiting the GTA,” added Guerin. “We've had a magnificent year promoting West Indian celebrations throughout the year, and our patrons have been with us every step of the way.”

The event is hosted by comedian/entertainer Jean Paul and is jam packed with Caribbean performers set to perform at the Conservation Area and a variety of vendors will be onsite selling authentic Caribbean cuisine.

Park admissions at Heart Lake Conservation Area are $6.00 for adults 16 and over, $5.00 for seniors 60 and over and Free for children 2 to 15 (with a paying adult).

West Fete Carnival sponsors include Carib101.com, Bounce FM, Rogers TV, Snap Brampton, and Creative Concepts.
