So after Berlin Carnival 2010 and D-One telling me for the last three years that Rotterdam Carnival is one of the hottest and sexiest carnivals in Europe, I decided that I am definitely coming - I do not know why it took me until the last minute to buy my ticket but thank God for EasyJet and like D-One say, "better late than never!!!" The expectation was two (2) days of fun, sun, hopefully plenty beautiful women and pure entertainment ..... So by all indications this weekend would once again be a memorable one!

The particular carnival in Rotterdam has been around for some years now and from what I have been told, is getting bigger and bigger each and every year. Apparently the carnival is notorious to be a wet one, being visited by rain showers during past episodes. D-One has made a point to highlight that since he has been a part of the carnival, which is something like 4 years now, every year the forecast calls for rain but nothing but sunshine blessed the carnival. Personally, I didn't really care if it rained on the day cause rain could make things much more interesting and loads more fun.....With that said, the day started out very dismal. Dark and overcast but once the carnival started the heavens had mercy. The sun poked a smile at the revelers now and then......even when the rains did come it was a slight misty coolin' shower that was gone in the same speed that it came......charging us up!

So the highlights and my observations of the things that stood out to me about my general two (2) days in Holland and at the carnival are the following:

    * The dutch really have embraced the carnival celebrations especially the Caribbean music, the vibe and culture that surrounds the celebrations. They partake in the carnival and really show their appreciation of what they know ... I swear some of them know more about my culture than me ... but then what does that say about me huh?
    * There are waaaay tooo many photographers on the road ... wow ... talk about SLRS from Hybrids to Digital to even Old School SLR Cameras which still use FILM! Some black room producing of pictures ... but be wary ... not everyone was taking pictures for professional use ... you could tell the thirsty and horny people ... aka perverts
    * There are some very sexy people in Holland ... not just sexy ... but attractive ... no not just attractive ... absolutely gorgeous ... I swear I supposed to be taking pictures ... I was gaping like all the time ... I could not stop help but gape ... wowza ....
    * Why oh Why does Holland have so many cyclists? They rule the roads and pavements in the Netherlands! It also gives the women those sexy thighs and buttocks ... lol ... but on a real, the cyclists here have the right away - they do not stop for anybody - they just cycle - they just ride .... "gwaaan wid dey bad self" ...
    * Always look for a group of people celebrating a hen night or a stag do - guaranteed to have loads of fun and laughter with them ... because its all about that last chance ... *wink wink*
    * The weather here is absolutely superb in the summer - it was never hot! For all those who like heat - stay away! For all those who do not like to sweat and just like the cool breeze ... bring yourself and come!
    * Make sure you got plenty spare change in your wallet or purse for paying to use the bathroom. Fifty euro cents was the damage every time I wanted to shake the snake or get rid of some dead weight..... This paying thing would def take some getting used to.
    * Lodging in Rotterdam is recommended. Preferably in a hotel close to where the carnival parade starts and ends. Your feet would thank you for this.
    * Linking up with Triniconnection crew and D-One would guarantee that: 1. You rolling with a true soca group, and 2. Drinks, food, vibes, laughs, women and just about everything you need to have a splendid time would be provided
    * Rotterdam carnival is definitely worth the trip. Definitely!

Did we forget anything? Add your 2 cents below...
