Incognito promotions establised Shipwrecked on the Notting Hill Carnival party calendar back in 2008 (see coverage), and hasn't looked back since. Today, this All Inclusive pretty much dominates the Saturday party scene for the trendy, upscale partygoers and might very well be the 'not to miss' party for the NHC weekend.
CROWD:
You can always expect a sexy, upscale crowd at Shipwrecked where everybody tend to step up their carnival kit with that lil' extra touch of seXiness. A good ratio of women to men, and easy on the eyes to boot! And no matter what the theme of the event is, you're guaranteed to see a couple of hot female sailors serving up tasty appetisers from early o'clock. We wouldn't even get started on the shot girls! :-)
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Cable Club was home to Shipwrecked for 2010. It was considerably closer to the Tube stop, however parking may have provided a challenge for some. Now unlike past venues used, Cable Club didn't have an outdoor area. Hosting a day/night fete indoors in a dark nightclub takes away from the idea for starting the event in daylight. This was the only negative.
VIBES:
Once again, just like last year ... vibes, vibes, vibes!!!!! Partygoers arrived much later than one would expect for an all inclusive, but by the time everyone was fed and drinks were in their system, IT WAS ON!
FOOD/DRINKS:
Not as much variety as last year with the food (Chinese and Creole cuisine), however there was plenty to go around... and a whole Roast Pig!!!! Indoors!!!! Cheeze on bread!!!!! I dare you to top that! Cocktail bar had flair and was always well preped for the rush. Don't ask me what I was drinking, but there was enough to forget how many and what it was called! :-)
SERVICE:
Good all around, food and drinks were easy to get and in abundance. When the main bar closed down, it was a lil' difficult getting drinks at the secondary bar, but persistence equaled success. And having sexy guys and girls offering folks shots throughout the event was a nice touch, and most certainly created a sweet party vibe. One patron did mention that she would like to see new shot guys next year (no offense to the current fellas) to keep things fresh and exciting.
COST/VALUE:
During a recession the phrase "value for money" is no longer a cliche as it is a fact of life. Priced at £50 All Inclusive, I challenge any 'Carnival Junkie' to show me better value for money than Shipwrecked!!!
Once again, Shipwrecked blew my socks off, from it's African theme back down. Admittedly, it took a little longer than last year for the heat to pick up, but I assure you by the end of the night it was Africa hot in de place! The venue didn't allow for cell phone service, but that added to the feeling of being sequestered in the wilds of the Congo! Throw in a whole Roasted Pig (that's correct, A WHOLE DAMN PIG!) plenty drinks, and women of every tribe ... what more could you ask for!
I presume even Dr. Livingston could not have fathomed an African experience this wild!
Final verdict..... miss Shipwrecked and blame yuhself!

I eh know what party you was at, but that party was nuttin to talk bout unfortunately, half the crowd as 2009, and very little vibes till the last hour of the party. Very dis organised as they had to close the main bar and compact the people in the smaller room with the 6foot long bar so that party will look ram with its 150 people...food was good, music was good for the last hour, but you could not get a drink or it wud take you half hour and then yuh was jes greedy so you had to order 3 drinks at a time, not as I had hoped, This will not see me next year...sorry...utterly disappointed

"Good all around, food and drinks were easy to get and in abundance." is dat some kind of joke ? I had to wait a minimum of 20 minutes each time I went for a drink and I ent sure what amanda talking about that cocktail bar was also in in a mess. They ran out of cups, ice and mixers several times and it was a jam to get a drink there as well. THe vibes only came in the last hour when people were drunk (which took some effort). Last year was bess this year was a big big dissapointment.

Kevin and Richard so sorry to hear you didn’t have a fantastic experience, all of the people I have spoken to enjoyed it to the MAX, they all managed to get food and plenty drinks so not sure what their secret was, however we were aware that there were issues with the bar, not for lack of alcohol though as I am sure you will attest to, the bar staff at the venue clearly couldn’t handle the pace of alyuh drinkers, as a matter of fact I was serving drinks at one point LOVED IT you shoulda come by me I woulda sort yuh out.
In regards to the vibes well just looking at the pics you could tell people had a time, perhaps it was down to the crew they were rolling with. 150 people Kev come on, I was by the door until it closed collecting and handing out tickets and defo way more than 150 ppl pass thru. There was a reason we moved the party to the MAIN room, that was planned and the DJ's on the night did make announcements so ppl knew what was happening. Amanda girl glad you had a blast see ya next year dun knw! Thanks for the feedback we coming bigger and better next year with triple the bar staff! Richard and Kevin if you have anything to add holla at me on facebook Dallas W. Blesssss. |

I beg to differ from previous comments made, in fact some of these complains made are contradictory, since one person said that the "people was scarce" yet they complained about the long cues for the little bit of people" and the issues of mobile coverage, now why you need to converse on yuh phone, in a party (datz just plain dumb)!
Now we all establish when a Trini go to an all-inclusive "they take the piss". I see people propping-up the bar so it made it difficult to get to the bar, and to top it all off, the bartenders had grave difficulty understanding the poor pronunciation of English by us "Drunken Trinis". And what exactly is "VIBES"? I would of taught that YOU as an individual (TRINI) make yuh own vibes. I had a blast and i wont miss it for anything, tough for all yuh dissatisfied punters, the crowd by the bar entertain me and is (next year same place same time). xx |

I had a fab time. The music was bess, the food was good and I went home happy. I must say I was also impressed by the fellas handing out shots...abs to die for. All in all it was well worth the price and I will be back next year. Thanks for the hook-up Dallas..

Small turnout of about 150 people max and because the crowd was spread over 2 rooms initially the vibes suffered. This did however make it easier to get food and drinks...food was good. Then, one room was closed off which meant we lose one bar and it was then HELL to try to get drinks at the small bar which remained open...and ah mean small bar! Vibes only really picked up for the last hour and half I'd say. Crowd = small, Venue = nice but a bit hard to find even Tom Tom was havin trouble, Vibes = great if you got there for de last hour, Food = great, Drinks = next question please, Cost/value = defintiely not worth it, sorry.

@Sean see my comment above we are aware of the issues with the bar it has been mentioned already and addressed, triple bar staff next year, 150 ppl like you and Richard went to the same school, this sounding like a real conspiracy lol blesss.
Thanks for the feedback Sean. |

Kevin aka Richard aka Sean my condolences to u fellas....but clearly from reading and being most present...seems like u 3 were liming together which could explain your experience. Cuz all the ladies present and accounted for had a blast. But l do like how you all counted the crowd to see that only 150 ppl were there...maybe we had alluh drinks. Next time fellah don't lime with each other and fine some sistrens to party with...Mad Love to Dallas and the crew....c u next yr 2011

Hello All
To the unhappy patrons, on behalf of the SHIPWECKED Management Team I am very disappointed to hear that your experience was not one of which we set out to achieve. SHIPWRECKED is a brand which goes the extra mile in giving our patrons the best and most value for their money. We value your comments and do hope that we see you at one of our events in the future, considering that we have consistently delivered the only true ‘All-Inclusive’ experience in the UK. We acknowledge there was a problem with the bar service towards the end of the night. It must be noted that the change over of bars took place at 10:30pm, with the party finishing at 1am, and this was done due to another event starting in the other room, and not to pack people into a room as assumed. The main room of the venue which was set up with two working bars has a capacity to hold over 350 people, unfortunately, the management of SHIPWRECKED had no control of the speed of the bar service for a crowd of this size and although we tried our best to assit Cable Club’s bar staff in speeding up the process it proved very difficult and we do apologise for this. It is a point for improvement for next year and not necessarily a reflection of the SHIPWRECKED service model, as demonstrated from our previous events. A change of venue will resolve this. I do hope you had the opportunity to take a shot of Tequila, Goldschläger or Jägermeister whilst waiting, as our models were working hard to keep those shots flowing. As promised all drinks supplied were premium spirits, liquers, cocktails and shots. There was food in abundance, to the extent that even though 4 different types of dishes were available ALL night, 4 and 5 boxes of food were given away to patrons leaving the party. In all our overall feedback has been very positive. To the happy attendees, we are happy you have a fantastic time, we look forward to seeing you at our next event and it is your support and enthusiasm that keeps us going, as we continue to be the Number 1 party in London for Nottinghill Carnival! Kevin, Richard and Sean, I welcome your feedback through out direct method of contact: either by email on: info@shipweckedcarnival.com or by phone 07990 587 333. We look forward to seeing you all in 2011! |

For the guy at the top, what time did you get there? Because had you got there at a reasonable hour you would have been able to not only get as much food as you wanted, but would have had it as quickly as you could have eaten it!!!!! Same for the drinks for that matter! If however you showed up LATE, once the party had moved into one room then it would have been a little more difficult, but hardly the chore you make it out to sound. It's a fete not Mc Donalds!!!!! Admittedly, moving the fete into one room did make it harder to get drinks, and I felt that the outside bar should have been opened a little earlier once more people started to file in. You're either A) NOT A WEST INDIAN or B) NEVER BEEN TO A DRINKS FREE PARTY AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT! The night in my mind was largely a success, and once again, 50pounds for all the food and drinks you can handle in the alotted time is a steal my friend.... and the women, ohhhhhhhhhh the women!!!!!
