Contemporary Modern Dance Company Brings Prolific Pieces Back To The Stage To Commemorate Its 25th Anniversary

September 14, 2010 – Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago - To mark the momentous accomplishment of 25 years in dance, the Noble Douglas Dance Company Inc. will open the curtains to its silver anniversary dance season, DAM 25 – Celebrating 25 Years Of Dance And Music. The contemporary modern dance company will honour the lifetime of work of the company’s founder and artistic director, Noble Douglas, as well as dancers and musicians who have dedicated their lives to dance and music in Trinidad and Tobago. The production will open with grand flair with a gala night including a cocktail reception on Saturday September 25, 2010 and will continue on Sunday September 26, 2010 at Queen’s Hall.

DAM 25 will take audiences on a trip down memory lane, as some of the company’s most prolific pieces will be brought back to stage. For the collaborative project, artistic directors for the production, Allan Balfour and Dave Williams, brought leading dancers and musicians together to bring life to the choreography of Christel De Souza (UK), Noble Douglas, Thomeki Dube (Zimbabwe), Andre George, Heather Henderson-Gordon, Boscoe Holder, Natalie Rogers (USA), Sunil and Reggie Wilson (USA). A veteran cast including Balfour, Simone Camps, Denise Dickson-Cunningham, Arlene Frank, Charlene Harris, Kevin Jack, Louanna Martin, Sherid Mason, Kyra Mc Gowan-Santana, Charlene Rollock, Kwasi Romero, Sunil and Williams will perform a diverse array of classic, contemporary and post modern works. To commemorate this silver milestone, the company will be joined by Willard “Relator” Harris, 3canal, the Marionettes Chorale and Len “Boogsie” Sharpe maintaining NDDCI’s signature style of weaving live music throughout its productions.

In the spirit of promoting wellness, NDDCI is offering gala patrons the opportunity to experience the physical and spiritual benefits of movement with a premium Silver ticket package that includes a complimentary dance class. Tickets can be purchased at Crosby’s Music Centre and the Queen’s Hall box office at the price of $300.00 for Silver gala tickets (includes a complimentary dance class and reserved seating), $250.00 for Bronze gala tickets and $200.00 for the Sunday performance.
