It’s that time of the year in Trinidad when all the good band launches have past and it’s still too early for a really good Halloween Party.  You know that time of year when some of your good friends are fasting so they’re staying in and it’s still WAY too early to crash some office Christmas party.  What is there for someone to do during this lull?  Well at least there’s one event that could satisfy your need for opulence…  it’s time to go to Prime – A Drinks Inclusive Affair!

Once you know that an event is hosted by the Privilege Committee you know that it’s going to be a mature private gathering with all of the trimmings and tapestry that would go well with this year’s Country Club venue’s breath taking old world charm.  So your boy and the rest of the TJJ crew promptly made our way to Prime early so that we would not miss out on anything.

With hearts a-pumping and adrenaline a-rushing the TJJ crew quickly made our way into the Country Club to only encounter the open air courtyard filled with a trendy crowd that transmitted NO VIBE!  Oh gorm dis party going to be STOOSH!!  I guess that the 25 years and over promotion has resulted in a mommy and daddy crowd who only want to mingle!!!  Well at least there are free premium drinks.

The bar service was great with scotch, vodka and cocktails flowing.  There was even a complimentary wine bar that was under constant attack from my ladies decked out in their Prada pumps and over sized Louis Vuitton hand bags.

I need this party to excite me, I need some energy other than that derived from alcohol to revive me, I need… I need… a super hero!  Oh what’s that in the sky?  It looks like a bird, no it looks like a plane… it’s, it’s Less Than Zero!  Finally a real DJ is one the ones and twos!  Less Than Zero really understood this crowd and unleashed some Soca and Old School Dance Hall.  With that shot in the arm and some influence of the alcohol the crowd finally started moving!

And what is this I’m seeing in the Country Club?  Free DOUBLES!  Oh yeah I need something to soak up all this alcohol.  But at TT$300 a head I thought that they could have done a bit more… Who says Gyro???!!!

In the end it was great that Privilege to invite TJJ to their Prime event!!!!  So with good bar service, good crowd and preliminary lacklustre vibe Prime was simply something to do when there was nothing else to do…

Keiron was there… where were you?
