This year marked the 10th Anniversary of Girl Power, a very popular Miami Carnival event, which has marked its spot on the Thursday night TJJ event line-up.  This event is the start for most, bringing in the Miami Carnival weekend with loads of live performances. And trust me when I say meh Facebook inbox was full up with fliers and info for Girl Power, circulating probably every hour on the hour...  so the anticipation of what Girl Power Miami had to offer was high.  Even meh telephone conversation with one of the promoters made the event seem even more appealing.  Doh mind he abuse meh about the last Girl Power review! :-)

CROWD:
This year's crowd was a mixture of local Miamian's and out of towners, which was not surprising for an event of this size, with a large line up of performances.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Calder Casino and Race Course venue offers an indoor, outdoor and grandstand atmosphere with parking.  Definitely large enough to hold and event of this magnitude.

VIBES:
What can I say... the vibes were nice! Any carnival event with top notch live performances, you can't go wrong! All the performers were absolutely amazing and created such a rhythmic vibe. JW and Blaze had me palancing down the road. The entertainment was bess!!  Machel Montano HD performance was on point ... Patrice Roberts, you're beautiful and a great entertainer ... Farmer Nappy, ah like your style!

FOOD/DRINK:
With plenty food vendors on hand, there was a wide variety of food. They actually had more food vendors than drink bars.

COST/VALUE:
Limited advance general tickets were $35 and VIP tickets were $45. Now at the door was a different story! But fete-goers didn't care, recession n all, Miami Carnival was in the air!
