Well, October month is known as the month of beer in many parts. This is when Oktoberfest is celebrated in it’s birth place of Germany and by extension the rest of the world. The folks at All Out Sports Bar had an abridged version of the celebration which is in keeping with it’s daily service and a little Trini flair.

Now All Out Sports Bar and Gourmet Grill is located on the Oval grounds and carries a wide range of draft and bottled beer from as far as Belgium and other territories along with our very own home brew. I just happened to speak to one of the suppliers of their beer who also happened to be the previous owner of the bar and he gave a brief history of the surroundings. One thing he mentioned that stood out is that there were some books in one of the showcases that gave the history of players and county cricket matches over the years. Now if you’re a cricket history buff that would be something you would like to feast your eyes on. Maybe one of the staff members will let you have a look.

Well it wouldn’t be an Oktoberfest celebration without the Carib girls being present. The girls who shared smiles and conversation also gave out Carib and the new Carib Pilsner Light beer. In the spirit of the celebration there was a beer chugging competition. Several people gathered on the patio for the first round of competition choosing their beer of choice including one guy who I was told comes out for every competition and walks away with the price. So said … so done! Even with a lot of strong contenders he was not to be “bested” on that day. For the first round a hamper was given, presented by the Carib girls.

Not more than twenty minutes later patrons once again congregated at the patio area for the second of the beer chugging competition. This time around, the women were not to be left out of the action. A single female competitor joined to represent them. With a spirit of camaraderie everyone knocked bottles and chugged. Well the runner up came in first this time, gaining that hamper he missed out on the first time around. (You can see both winners posing with the Carib Girls)

From there it was on to the sounds of the resident DJ who gave a nice mix of music throughout the night which had several patrons dancing. Not to mention the finger food which was enjoyed while having light conversation and enjoying a game on one of many plasma screen televisions located around the bar. Lastly ... Special thanks and shout out to Shanna. We truly appreciated all the love and hospitality you showed us hunnie ;-)
