Christmas is right around the corner, with just a few days left until the big celebration. The guys of Thief Head Crew came together to kick of the pre-Christmas celebration with Secret Santa! A party that became a big buzz amongst all Caribbean people both here and abroad, due to our good friend “Santana”. A Trini comedy sensation thats taking over the internet with its mini episodes and outrageous characters that we all can identify with as island people.

As in the ‘Secret Santana’ episode, the fee to get in Tropical Reflections for Secret Santa was five cans before 1am. A lot of cans were donated because a lot of people were still on the line outside in the cold before the clock struck one. Nobody tried to pull a Santana and dish out ‘five slap’ because they can’t get in. Inside was a little scant at first, but as time progressed, people still kept trickling in. Although the space was not completely packed, the space was extremely hot.

The theme for the evening was clearly red. Members of Thief Head Crew were decked out in bright red, and ready for the holiday season. It was easy to peep them, especially when the venue got full. No worries, they held down the bar for most of the night and the drinks were flowing. No specialty drinks. I love my Margaritas and a little fruity cocktail with the umbrella to top it off, but the bar men (and women) filled those big red cups with beers, Johnny, and extra strength rum and cokes. Not bad. Can’t complain.

The musical vibes was pretty good. The crowd definitely loved the reggae and soca vibes. Of course! What do expect. . . but those hip hop tunes really set them off! Black & Yellow, Black & Yellow! Natural Freaks brought them back to the island vibe with the new soca tunes for the 2k11 Carnival season! Pumpin them up just a tad bit for the excitement that awaits in Trinidad. Mr. Groove bussed out tunes, Wine To d Side, and one of the hottest riddims, Flagship Riddim, which had ladies mashin up the Speaker Box.

Definitely have to give a major shout out to the entire Thief Head Crew and show them love and support. They have some of the best parties all throughout the year and always manage to include the TJJ family in everything that they do. They definitely showed they have big hearts by dedicating their event to a charitable cause for the Holidays.
