Miami, Florida, December 21, 2010 – Two of the Caribbean’s greatest athletes – cricketer Courtney Walsh and footballer Robbie Earle – will team up in the Courtney Walsh Documentary, premiering December 25 on ESPN2 Caribbean at 4:30 p.m. and ESPN Caribbean at 5:30 p.m.

While Courtney Walsh starred for the West Indies cricket team for almost 20 years as a fearsome fast bowler, Robbie Earle was a standout midfielder for the Jamaican National squad and scored Jamaica’s first-ever World Cup Finals goal, in France in 1998.

In conversational style, Earle interviews Walsh about his early years in Jamaica, what inspired him to become a cricketer, and his outstanding career. Walsh is one of four bowlers to have bowled over 5,000 overs and one of five cricketers to have reached the magical target of 500 Test wickets.

During the documentary, Earle takes Walsh back to his childhood cricket club, Melbourne, interviews some of the characters who helped form Walsh’s career, and talks with Walsh’s mother, who was influential in making him the success he is today.

In addition, Earle explores Walsh’s life after retirement in Jamaica. They visit both a race track to watch Walsh’s horses compete and the sports bar Walsh owns, where an epic night of dominoes ensues with three-time World and Olympic gold medalist, and fellow Jamaican, Usain Bolt.

Several re-airs of the Courtney Walsh Documentary are scheduled on both ESPN Caribbean and ESPN2 Caribbean through the holiday week and up through the Caribbean Regional Twenty 20 Tournament in January.
