It was time to take a wine on a “Town Ting” down at the Hilton Trinidad as Privilege unlashed its inaugural Rehab Carnival Cooler Jam!!! At only TT$150 and entry of coolers ALL night long you simply could not go wrong. So the TJJ Family filled our cooler to the brim and headed Hilton Poolside to get on “Wotless”!
“Tell dem call meh name…” echoed across the entire Hilton compound as over 2000 Fantasy Girls entering Rehab to cure their addiction to Soca! And what better atmosphere to launch the newest carnival bands for C2K11 … Fantasy the J’ouvert Band!
The Jamboree & Privilege Entertainment Company did an excellent job by utilising almost every nook and cranny of the outdoors of the compound to create different atmospheres for every type of party animal. The pool was the main feature for the social Soca Lovers, while de serious Soca Addicts were admitted to the huge multilevel dance floor connecting the stage that was perched against the hillside. While the Pool Terrace was laid out like an outdoor garden restaurant with gyros, doubles, roti and BBQ on sale.
Promptly at midnight the first featured artist on stage was Blaxx! As one of the most underrated performers, Blaxx, was able to make crowd get on “Dutty” and left them “Breathless” with his “Tanti Woi” C2K11 hit! From then on promptly on the hour every hour there were more performances as a seasoned Iwer George hit the stage at 1am with his repertoire of hits. Then JW & Blaze were on at 2am with only a two song compilation of their hits with NO teaser of their C2K11 Road March contender in sight ... but they did promise to release their offering at Privilege's next carnival event 'Wicked In White'!
With Soca blasting, drinks flowing and Fantasy Girls wining it was difficult to get over my Soca Addiction at Rehab!
