After leaving “The Hills” and heading to Soca Junction for “We Fete” we had to make a pit stop at “Soaka!”

With an event name like Soaka you know that you must be prepared! Ziplock bag for cell phone... Check!  Change of clothes for when I get wet... Check, Check!!! And most importantly plastic bag for digital camera... Check, Check, Check!!! So now the TJJ family is ready to make our way to WOW Events inaugural Soaka Cooler Fete down at the newly refurbished MOBS II.

As we entered MOBS II we were given another ziplock bag for you cell phone and wallet (just in case you forgot to bring one).  There were even towels and a complementary Francis Fashions T-shirts for all to change into when you were ready to leave. And all through MOBS II there were beach balls and large inflatable pools for the Soaka Aqua Babies to wade in!  WOW, they thought of everything!

The usual sponsors were also in attendance with free Cooler Light and Pepsi flowing from every corner.  But special mention must be made to the most important sponsor of them all Junior Sammy!  With six large Junior Sammy water trucks there was not a dry area anywhere!!!

The entertainment was sporadic but good with Cassie singing for all of the “Town Tings”  in attendance.  Next was JW & Blaze performing their catchy repertoire that has grown from two to three songs since I last saw them.  Then there was Neil Iwer George and with no fan fare, no elaborate backup dancers he “Ease De Tension”, “Mashing Up The Place” and answered what de people want... “WATER”At that point the heavens had opened and the rains came down much to the excitement of the crowd!  Finally there was Kes with his backup dancers with another solid performance.

But the highlight of the night for me was when DJ Dane & Hollywood Satchi invited everyone on the stage to Jump On It, Stamp On It, Trample It, Wine On It, Wave On It and Rumple It as he unleached Machel’s “Advantge”!

After a night like that all you can say is WOW!

Keiron was there... where were you?
