Thursday 27th January, 2011 - It is not the paint, the beads, or the feathers that draws the Carnival Spirit every year, calling to revelers and signaling to them the time has come to once again shake off their everyday pain and to dive head first into the unadulterated freedom that TnT’s black pitch carpet extends to all souls.

In truth it is really the simplest of sounds that builds into a hypnotic melody that provides a trance-like riddum no one can resist.

The likkety... likkety... pling pong, of a rusty ole tin pan, beaten by the ready-made percussionists who litter the walkways come Carnival is the true signal that our beloved mas has started.

For Carnival 2011, this enigmatic but irresistible call has been captured by the one and only Ma$tamind himself, in a riddum that ignites all the soca jumbies into wining and rotating action.

The Tin-Pan Riddum, is the latest soca concoction out of Ma$tamind Productions, and it is without a doubt not just beautiful music, but also a reflection of how well our current style of music intermingles and deliciously intertwines with the very foundation sounds of our rich culture.

Riding the Tin-Pan Riddim are some well known and loved voices like, Nadia Batson, Patrice Roberts, and 3rd Bass, with Lyrikal, Ricardo Drue, Skinny Fabulous, and Naki, flexing their talent, alongside a newbie to watch, Young Voice. In addition, Da Ma$tamind himself makes a guest appearance reminding us all how comfortable he is in the back and front line of soca.

With the combination of tremendous vocal talent and pure enjoyment of the intricate harmonies that Da Ma$tamind has built into this riddum, it is no wonder Carnival waistlines have now started to turn, twist, and anticipate what looks to be an amazing festival of fun.
