Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. February 10, 2011 - It can easily be stated with absolution that Army Fete is Trinidad and Tobago’s most anticipated carnival event. It has been proven in 2011. Weeks ahead of the staging of the popular military fete, ticket outlets have been replenished some three times, and the cost of general admission tickets were increased once. This alone is proof enough that the Army certainly has credibility of providing patrons with one of the best carnival experiences in the season.

Each year, thousands locally and from international parts flock to the Queen’s Park Savannah in capital city, Port-of-Spain for what could only be described as the ultimate carnival concert. No other event pulls such massive crowds and with security a key factor that eliminates hesitation among patrons, hoards of eager revelers come out each year dressed in shades of green, khaki, black and sometimes gray to be a part of the annual thrill.

The Trinidad and Tobago Regiment along with reputed promotional entity, Tropix Entertainment, prides itself on giving patrons the safest carnival ‘big-fete’ that can be experienced. Months in advance, fete security strategies are defined and mapped out and together, the entities engage in meetings aimed at ensuring their patrons are put first in every instance.

In 2011, Army fete promises to surpass those of the past. With a great 2011 catalogue of impressionable soca hits, the biggest names of the Soca industry, coupled with some of the Caribbean’s finest entertainers, will present themselves on Army Fete stage. Among the cast are Destra Garcia and her band, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons and Asylum, Kes The Band featuring Nadia Batson, Karma with reigning chutney monarch Ravi B and the man of the season, Benjai.

Also in the lineup, is one of carnival’s most enjoyed artistes, Denise Saucy Wow Belfon. Shal Marshal and Super Jigga TC along with Srews, Cassi, Lyrikal, Patch and the Boss Iwer George will also make appearances on February 25th.

On Facebook, the Army Fete group page is decorated with sentiments of anticipation made by patrons who understand the vibe that is evoked and enjoyed at Army Fete each year. Dubbed, Operation Shakedown in 2011, organisers are planning something truly spectacular even amid their toilsome duty of providing unparalleled security.
