So its Sunday evening and the night before the long anticipated V-day. Shades of Ebony surely gave partygoers an extra dose of love on that evening. Finger foods were catered by Sugarcane Restaurant. Mango chow, jerk chicken wings, and rum drizzled cake were among some of the treats that tantalized our taste buds. Red light drink specials in the early part of the evening helped to create the perfect mood for romance and love. And its not that this event was strictly for couples, there were several of us in the crowd who were single and ready to mingle.

DJ Anonymous warmed us up in the earlies with a nice mix of R n B and reggae, and followed by Sounds 4 Life who turned up the heat a bit musically. The night was rounded off by Foreign Base who even threw in a couple of old school slow jams that had couples rocking ""for old times sake"", and everyone in the crowd even the singles singing at the top of their voices.

The Dumbo Spot is a nice open loft styled venue, located on the border of Brooklyn and Manhattan in one of Brooklyn's well known artsy areas. This was the perfect choice of venue for Velvet. The crowd was nicely dressed in their Sunday evening best, and there was even a prize for the best dressed females. And what better prize than a dozen pink roses to put a big smile on their faces. Velvet definitely stirred up some lovey dovey feelings, and was a great way to start Valentine's Day.
