“Jamaica, Out of Many One People” our motto “jumped” to life amidst the enthusiastic crowd at the second week of Bacchanal Fridays. Themed “Jamaica Night” patrons were treated to complimentary Jamaican flags and many welcomed the call to “wear their colours with pride”.

Carnival across the world is seen as a unique opportunity for people to openly express joy, culture and freedom. Why not display our Jamaican pride at such an opportune time, after all we were recently ranked the “third coolest nation” by CNN (January 21,2011).

Jamaicans and Non-Jamaicans alike partied together as to what was described as “a skillful blend of Carnival soca hits, dancehall and reggaeton while introducing new 2011 soca songs” by DJs Kurt Riley and Mario C of 3rd Dimension. Bacchanal Jamaica Fridays seek to introduce patrons at the Mas Camp to the new 2011 selections that are simultaneously riding the airwaves over in Trinidad for their Carnival in early March.

Hits like Kes’ “Wotless” and Machel Montano’s “Advantage” were welcomed by the crowd. Kes The Band among other soca artistes are highly anticipated for the many band performance nights to come.

Get fit for Mas Camp and Road March May 1st as Soca’cise aptly themed “The Conquest” commences on Monday February 28th to April 13th, 2011. Every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm the public is invited to Soca’cise and admission is free. Soca’cise is always highly anticipated as a “training ground” for avid Bacchanal Friday party-goers and masqueraders. The headline sponsor is Big Jo Fruit JAZZ.

On the Bacchanal Jamaica Calendar this week ~ Soca’cise on Monday and Wednesday as you “gear up” for the third Bacchanal Fridays with DJ Billy and DJ Sanjay from Coppershot alongside Sparkles Productions.
