For as long as we know carnival, Ladies First has been around and is a staple on our annual carnival calendar! Now whether or not 2,000 ladies complementaries were given out, the one thing we knew for sure ... especially with the traffic at the tail end ... was that Pier 1 was packed!

For $250.00TT, Zen provided a star cast of performances. Ravi B. and band Karma opened the show, and was followed by KES the Band. Kees dressed in red pants, a jacked and a black v-neck with lots of holes carried on his wotlessness ("Wotless") for the season and the band's Talent Factory dancers looked most sexy in their matching red hot shorts with "Wotless" printed on the back. Before both Nadia Batson and Tallpree joined Kes on stage ... by the way, "Lighters" is gaining more and more popularity as we lead up to Fantastic Friday ... one of the night's highlights was Michelle X of Imij & Co. guest appearance to sing her 2011 hit "Fetting for Days".

Around 2am, it was time to "STAMP ON IT" as Machel Montano and full HD band delivered the ultimate performance kicking off with fireworks and the accompanying "Advantage" billboard screens. Seeing this was still one of Machel’s earlier performances for this long season, it was fresh!! This laid the foundation since no one saw it before. But it was truly amazing for the Pier 1 crowd to see how a girl is supposed to bend over! HD dancer Brithany Dookie stole the spotlight (yet again) showing off her flexibility while Machel performed his smash song, "Bend Over".

For a fete that's not all inclusive or free drinks, the party was pumping and swinging for the most. We at TJJ will still love to see Ladies First become a "Free Drinks" fete! With the one road to go in and come out of Chaguaramas it had a little traffic which I sure was more than worth it for the Machel fans.

Next year for sure .... Ladies 1st!
