Kingston, Jamaica, April 18, 2011 - An expression of freedom, fun and a truly festive experience awaits you at the annual staging of Bacchanal Jamaica’s Beach J’ouvert. Beach J’ouvert will take place on Saturday April 23rd 2011 on James Bond Beach, Oracabessa, St. Mary, gates open at 1pm.

The entertainment line up features Destra Garcia and her band supported by a dynamic line up of DJs: Kurt Riley, Sparkles Productions Disco, Private Ryan from Trinidad and Smoke from Renaissance with MC Bambino.

Hailed the Queen of Soca and embraced as part of the Bacchanal Jamaica’s family, Destra Garcia will return to her rightful place on Beach J’ouvert’s stage. Destra is the sole female lead singer and head of her band. Her strong female personality commands the stage and captivates her audience. A large part of the anticipation is also Destra’s choice of daring stage outfits and equally tantalizing back up dancers. Destra’s “brand of soca” is extremely popular in Jamaica, her 2009 “Bacchanal” is dubbed the anthem for Carnival in Jamaica ~ Bacchanal Jamaica Carnival! With her collection of hits like “It’s Carnival”, “Celebrate”, “Bonnie and Clyde” and “Max it Up” and 2011 hits like “Proper” and “Cool it Down” this diva is sure to perform an energetic and crowd-pleasing set.

Beach J’ouvert tickets are on sale at various outlets: Ammar’s (King Street, Sovereign Center and Village Mall Plaza), Mega Mart (Waterloo Road, Portmore and Montego Bay), L.G. Service Center and General Foods (Ocho Rios). Beach J’ouvert is title sponsored by Smirnoff in association with Appleton, Acropolis, Digicel, Sparkles Productions and Matterhorn. General tickets are $3,500 pre-sold drinks inclusive, $4,500 at the gate. A special Beach J’ouvert VIP drinks and food inclusive party section will be a first time feature this year with pre-sold VIP tickets available for purchase at a cost of $6,000.
