Two Big Events, Same Night ... Same Venue!
The anticipation to see the 2011 Chutney Soca Monarch winner since I was in Trinidad was exciting for not just me, but many others (especially those who didn't make it to Trinidad for Carnival this year!) Soca 360 is a once-a-month event which brings Soca & Chutney lovers from all around Florida down to Calder Race Course and packs the venue. This night, we had 6th time Chutney Soca winner RIKKI JAI!
Vibes was blastin' in both the Naked room with Black Chiney (Walshy Fire), Dutty Dex and Coppershot as well as in the Soca 360 Room with DJ Barrie Hype, Natural Mystic, Dj Slim Vybez, Dj Mark D and Dj RyanSayeed. But it was special guest Rikki Jai, sorry Rikki "2 million-dollars" Jai, who put on a vibzen live performance with his 2011 hit "White Oak and Water" along with all of his classic Rikki Jai songs ... especially when he gave away 2 bottles of White Oak!
Let's switch over to the Naked "Inception" Edition...
Every 2nd Saturday of the month, Naked was the other event going on simultaneously with Soca 360. It was held in the outside part of the venue playing all the best in Dancehall, Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, Dirty South and more! This is one of the only times you get two parties in one where you can go in and outside as you please and listen to many genres played from some of the best DJs around .. period! I say no more!!
