Kingston, Jamaica, April 26, 2011 - Carnival is no easy business and its successful staging requires a true understanding to host a season that is super fun, spectacular, safe and full of soca. The organizers of Bacchanal Jamaica have been hosting Carnival in Jamaica for over ten years and is known for delivering the full carnival package: fete after fete, a line up of soca’s finest talent, gorgeous carnival costumes and two unique J’ouverts “more paint, more fun, more bacchanal” and the premier Carnival costume band Road March.

The “party now start” as we move from the warm-up series of nine (9) dynamic Bacchanal Fridays, hot off a superb Beach J’ouvert last Sat April 23rd in Ocho Rios and into the hallmark start of the real bacchanal in Kingston: Acropolis Bacchanal J’ouvert, Friday April 29th at the Mas Camp. The ultimate J’ouvert experience promises a supreme night that is title sponsored by Acropolis.

Acropolis Bacchanal J’ouvert this year boasts the Soca Fireman himself, Bunji Garlin alongside the Lyon Empress also his wife, Faye-Ann Lyons-Alvarez backed by the Asylum Band. Bunji is undisputedly a lyrical genius, winner of Soca Monarch on four occasions, and a true artiste of the people. Faye-ann has many accolades but it was in 2009 while pregnant that she displayed her true soca-dominance sweeping the Groovy Soca Monarch title with Heavy T Bumpa, the Power Soca Monarch and Road March titles with Meet Super Blue.

The fusion of Faye-Ann and Bunji alongside Asylum Band is a true powerhouse of soca talent perfectly fitting for a fiery performance at Acropolis Bacchanal J’ouvert. Their 2011 hits received heavy-rotation throughout the season: Faye-Ann’s Consider it Done and Pressure on it and Bunji’s Hold a Burn and Me Alone and their collaboration Go Home.

The gates open from 10pm at the Mas Camp where the paint and madd party begins with a line up of talented soca deejays, DJ Smoke from Rennaisance, DJ Back-to-Basics (Trinidad) and MC Wassi delivering a host of sponsor giveaways. The night’s theme Dawn of the Dynasty is sure to come alive with Faye-Ann, Bunji Garlin and The Asylum Band’s performance.
