What starts off as a decent all-inclusive party with booze and food in the yard of the mas camp turned by midnight into a battlefield of spray bottles, cups and buckets filled with paint of all colours. Let me say one thing: there was not one clean shirt or face anywhere near!
Everyone got their fair share even Mr Duttyrock himself Sean Paul was messed up from head to toe. Also Usain Lightning Bolt transformed into a white paint monster and was asked to join Back to Basics, Giselle Di Wassi One and Hollywood Satchi on stage to give Wassi a sweetest wine. Pure entertainment.
Without a doubt, the party element of this J'Ouvert ranks the highest on the list for 2011 Jamaica Carnival. Free Booze, Free Food and you get an ultimate comical horror show of a wining competition on stage, which not only got cancelled mid-way inbetween the absurd and raunchy wining but also had a winner just because she left the stage last ... Tears came to our eyes with laughter. The crowd was divided into VIP and regular but both areas had the chance to go all the way up to the stage and get a fabulous view at Bunji and FayAnn who hyped the crowd with their once again flawless performance.
DJ Smoke rocked the revellers with mad soca tunes and by 3 am the messy party animals were heading out the mas camp and hitting the roads of Kingston. It was a very safe and incident free J'ouvert and is definitely one of TJJs favourites. The crowd was jammin and vibsing until about 6am when everyone made their way home or to the hotel...some lost phones, some lost shoes...some left with ripped pants with holes in the weirdest locations lol...right Scorn ;-)
Big up all the organizers from Bacchanal Jamaica for this unforgettable experience, see you next year!
