We set out for the night for an old school reggae vibes, and we had plans to set out early, but some plans always seem to come up that get holds us up. (cuz u dun know, Grenadian time is worst than Trini time. . .trust an believe) There was no way in hell we were missing out on I-Wayne, Romain Virgo, Ghost and of course, Sanchez! Nah! No way!

We didn’t even bother to circle the Manhattan blocks in search of a parking space because we definitely was not up for any dramas and headaches tonight. . . but Jah know we were bound for it anyways. We arrived at BBKings and Jungle Juice was NOT ON THE GUEST LIST! What kinda madness!? Low and Behold. . . we were not the only ones. A bunch of confusion in d place. People were not satisfied that they were not on the guest list and were being denied entry. We were not in the mood to miss out on Sanchez! We payed our $27 bucks (not bad) and rolled on in *rolls eyes*.

Stepped on the inside and the place was packed with patrons, most of them looked like they’ve been on the dancehall scene long before the early 90s. It wasn’t long before show time, so we hoped that the rest of the night went smoothly.

I-Wayne came out and blaze down the stage with his conscious, Jah Rastafari vibes and the people went wild. Some chicks on the bathroom line, who were clearly full blown Americans due to their heavy yankee accent, planned to hold their pee till his set was done because5 they “absolutely love him!”. He was followed by an up and coming R&B singer from Atlanta name Marquis. He had a nice vibe but we were waiting for Romain! Young, reggae and lovers rock, veteran-in-the-making, Love Doctor, Romain Virgo came on stage and our hearts melted! He even took it back, with a second round with some Alton Ellis tunes for an older female fan he called “Mumzie”, so claimed she couldn’t see him clear enough the first time. . .it was sweet. Ghost put on a mad performance! Jeeez! I remember being a tiny tot in the early 90s, around the age of 6 or 7, hearing these tunes. We sang word-for-word, as he put on a wicked performance, sweating bullets and gyrating down the place! The time came for the man of the night. . .Sanchez. A real veteran in the reggae dancehall game! He put on a show and it was signed, sealed, and SELL OFF! No words.

It was a great show! We have no complaints about that. . .definitely no complaints about that! Partygoers on the other hand. Why allyuh have to be so upset and ting tingin when allyuh step out d house! Jeezzz. . . cant deal with the BBKings crowd. They are highly rude and wanted to fight everyone. Me cyaannnn manage! *rolls eyes*

This review and gallery would not even exist if the promoter did not reconcile due to all of the mishaps. Hopefully next time, things work out WAY better, but all in all, much love to the artist, the show was nice!

and for the rest OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. . .!
