Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. May 25, 2011 - The cadre of local entertainers is growing daily. Out of a thirst to create and be heard, two young men are honing their craft, even amid the hype of their brand new dancehall/ R&B release, “Girls.”

Twenty-Four year old Shane ‘Lawless’ Howell is the son of local radio station boss, O’Brian Haynes. He says his passion for dancehall music cannot be tamed. Joining forces with Chanz Christian Davis recently, the pair made good of their talents, expressing their appreciation for the opposite sex by craftily syncing melodic tones with rough dancehall embellishments- a production owed to the studio they first interacted at, Backyard Studios.

Explaining that the song came about as a result of a keen ear, the pair noted that it was Hip Hop’s new superstar, Drake whose music caught their attention one day while returning from an event. “We were driving home from an event and I heard Drake’s “I Get Lonely Too,” playing in the car. I told Chanz to replay the track and I started coming up with concepts for the beat,” said Howell.

The next day, Lawless said he called his musical partner to hear the beat he’d created in addition to the first verse and the chorus he’d put together. “After I heard Chanz put his voice on the track, I knew the collaboration would be a good one,” laughed Howell.

Already, the song’s been released on Trinidad’s Synergy TV and works well for the young crowd. It’s beat is powerful and the lyrics are sexy and catchy, something that’s expected to work well when the track hits the local airwaves. “A video is being made to accompany the song,” said Lawless. He praised Ballaholics and GFX Studios for their support in getting it done. In the meantime however, the pair are calling on everyone to gear up for some of the biggest releases to come out of T&T. “ We’re preparing to make this thing happen man. We want it really bad and we’re coming to take it!” said Lawless.

“Girls” is the first collaborative effort between the pair, but according to both rising stars, it won’t be the last.
