Illusion’s Southside event, May I, in the middle of the year was just as I presumed. Despite the name, the timing of the event felt random; in true trini style any and every reason to throw a party.
The sparsely crowded event was kept energized by Dj’s Fats and Mazel along with uptown party hype man, Hollywood Sachy and Dj Dane. The party reached its climax with a lukewarm reception to Swappi’s performance and the premiere of his summer jam, “Blow my flute” on the doo dooot riddim.
However, I must be diplomatic and commend the organizers/promoters, every detail of the party seemed to be well thought out from security to the well stocked all- inclusive bar. Who say Man U!!!
