Johnnie Walker Giants of T&T event was held on Saturday June 4th at Brian Lara’s Residence, Lady Chancellor Hill, St. Ann’s. The event is really part of the ongoing campaign to “Be A Giant Don’t Drink and Drive”. It was further stated that the event is to further garner support for the campaign from Trinidad's elite and key influencers.
Quote ... "The Be A Giant Don’t Drink and Drive campaign has been driven through the sponsorship of WICB throughout the current India series in partnership with the PTSC here in Trinidad.
The campaign is led by West Indies Cricket Legend and Johnnie Walker Giant, Sir Viv Richards and Local Johnnie Walker Giant and foot-balling icon Shaka Hislop, who will both be on hand at the event to meet with guests, talk to media and most of all encourage everyone to become Giants themselves by pledging to Never Drink and Drive.
This year the campaign was run through facebook with a competition for a consumer to win the opportunity to bowl the first ball of the India Series, to Sir Viv Richards. Our Winner Kendell Roderick will also be at the event as a special guest of honour as he pledged to Never Drink and Drive." … end quote.
