Monday June 13th, 2011 -- The Caribbean beauty industry is about to become abuzz with excitement as Trinidad and Tobago gets ready to host a major regional model search. The world renowned Elite Model Look and ISLANDpeople have teamed up to develop a unique fashion event that will surely thrust the Caribbean Beauty industry into the international spotlight. The announcement was made by Islandpeople Director Derrick Lewis at the official launch of the Elite Model Look Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago 2011.

Hosted by professional model/Miss Barbados World 2009, Leah Marville the launch event was held on Thursday 9th June 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad and hosted a wide cross-section of designers, fashion industry professionals, corporate partners, entertainment stake-holders and the media.

The evening featured addresses by Vice president Elite International Jean Pierre Begon, Director Elite Latin and South America John Bilboa, European Entertainment Producer Christian Carbaza and Founder/Director of Islandpeople Derrick Lewis who spoke of the possible benefits for the Caribbean.

Top model hopefuls from Haiti, Suriname, Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Vincent, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. Following this, three finalists will go on to compete at the prestigious Elite Model Look International event in Hong Kong this November for US$1,000.000 in modeling contracts.
