THE KING IS HERE....!!!THE KING IS HERE.....!!! and I am not talking about Prince William.
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Toronto Revellers Mas Camp 2135 Sheppard Ave E. (North York @ Consumers Road) Scarborough.
VIBES:
Whilst Ottawa was graced with the presence of Royalty in the form of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Toronto Revellers Mas camp also hosted a monarch in the form of...the Soca King of the world.... Machel Montano.
There was a lot of scepticism surrounding his advertised appearance, but at exactly 11:15pm his royal highness took to the stage and made his presence known. He also took the opportunity to personally confirm that he WILL be on the road with Toronto Revellers for the 2011 parade. Seconds into his first selection Machel was MAULED by an over exuberant/inebriated fan/stalker when he ventured to the edge of the stage. This prompted an extemporaneous verse aimed specifically at the individual who repeatedly groped at the nether region of Mr. Montano's pelvis in a seemingly desperate attempt to confirm what the HD stands for in HD FAMILY.
The highlight of the evening was surprisingly not Machels appearance but DJs Chris Nice and 2 Touch who were able to warm up the crowd with a carefully crafted selection of mixes. Those in attendance had yet another opportunity to see the BEAUTIFUL models showcase the various sections of the Camps 2011 presentation .... of WELCOME TO OZ.
The vibe for the evening was relatively lukewarm but successful if only for the simple fact that Machel Montano has confirmed his presence with the band for 2011.......stock up on yup multivitamins....D TING START!Admission CDN$30.00
The stallion had the opportunity to meet with and casually interview DJ Chris Nice and found him to be a very professional, talented and well grounded individual with a progressive and proactive approach to youth and cultural development. It was indeed a pleasure to to learn that there are still individuals like DJ CHRIS NICE who feel passionately about his profession and culture as a whole. The TriniJungleJuice family wishes DJ CHRIS NICE all the best and look forward to GREAT things from him in the future.
