Tiger Bay Gardens which was first made popular by the late Bryon Lee had come to life again when Soca meet Reggae - the Global edition.  It seem fitting because Byron led a Jamaican band to do Soca tracks and now we are here full circle to combine these two powerful musical art forms and spread the love of Caribbean culture.

CROWD:
There were at least 2, 000 hard core fans of both music forms ready to just let loose. They were eager to celebrate having enjoyed a whole day of wonderful cricket in St. George's.  About 25% of the crowd were tourist from Canada and Europe who were lucky enough to have Bermy Friends or just be at the right spot at the right time.  The crowd was thick, beautiful and diverse. This was both in appearance and in musical taste yet the found perfect harmony together.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
The venue was literally sitting sea side.  it was very cool with tropical breeze blowing over the venue.  The VIP Bar was on the boat with natural transport home.  Drew, that was insane to navigate with our a moon and in the dark.  Hats off to you on that one.  Although the venue was dark the glow sticks added to the ambiance and crated the right type of vibes for scrubbing. I love the size of the venue because you did not have to be rubbing on anyone unless you wanted to. ;-)

VIBES:
That dance easily had another 1-2 hours of dance left in it.  The vibes was there, the music was on point.  Classics from Soca and reggae alike.  The people were feeling the Buju Banton set and wanted to Palance all night long.  Rupee not only won in Barbados but had people "Jump"ing to his hits in this clash. There are too many songs to name, we will be here all night long.  It is just like a sound clash and Soca Fete wrapped into one.  All I can say is doh miss this event if you like music vibes.

FOOD/DRINKS:
This was a Chit System and clients are never a big fan.  This makes access slower when people just want their drinks or food.  I guess for such a large crowd they need more access but all in all the job was done.  This is just a point for improvement.

SERVICE:
I personally did not interact with the service for food and drink. This TJJ work is hard business and this year it was an army of one on the ground. The girls for the glow in the dark sticks seemed friendly enough to me and everyone was wearing them. The parking lots was small so I guess you needed to get there early to park.  We luckily too a taxi to the venue but most Bermy folks use the bikes.

COST/VALUE FOR MONEY:
I think considering a normal party values at 35 dollars for one entertainment act then getting 4 acts fro 50 is a deal.  it is hard to value this one because I know that this island gets treated like more of a US comparable region than a West Indies island.  We need more time to investigate this one objectively.  In any event relatively to the other parties it was money well spent, no fighting, mature crowd and pure vibes.

Problem child and Skinny nuff respect on the Soca Representation.  OX mighty hope to see you in Boston for that carnival (somebody send us a ticket nah!!!)  Ashanti from Poison Dart nuff respect for holding the dance to the end. YGS you did give us some classics to spark things off.  We applaud everyone for keeping the vibes strong all night long.
