Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. August 11, 2011 - “Pace and more pace.” That’s the sentiment being echoed across the board by soca artistes these days as they jump from one carnival scene to another. A few Trini soca stars have already begun gearing up for C2K12 in T&T however, among them, former road march, groovy and power monarch champ, Shurwayne Winchester. On the heels of a carnival teaser he released last week, called Wine On It, Winchester today released Harder- a track that rides the Rich Boy riddim.

Bajan producer, King Bubba said working with Shurwayne was a dream come true, as he’d been trying to get the Tobago born entertainer to record with him for quite some time. The opportunity however came about a month ago when Shurwayne heard Lil Rick’s Wuk Up on the riddim and immediately took a liking to it. Shurwayne admits to seeking out the producer who’d done the riddim and flying to Barbados to record a session.

Harder is only the third track recorded on the riddim and Shurwayne’s the first artiste out of T&T to have reached out to King Bubba to get on it. It’s also Shurwayne’s first hard- hitting soca realease ahead of C2K12 but according to him, it’s only a taste of what’s to come.

There’s no doubt in his mind and in the minds of his team members that C2K12 will be his moment to truly impress, shine and show off just what he’s capable of doing.

The track starts off with the question, “ What she want?” ... It then speaks of women in their carnival glory, in their feting glory as Shurwayne sings, “Wine yuh buttom then drop, on de ground- she like de ting harder, gyirl want to jook harder...”

It’s like nothing the masses have heard from the soca sensation before and already, he’s proving that nothing will stand in the way of his C2K12 vibe- a vibe that he promises to spread through his music in the weeks and months ahead.
