October 22nd, 2008 - Born Jephter McClymount into a family with eight siblings in 1960’s Jamaica, achieving success as a cultural roots reggae icon was not an easy road for Luciano. The early death of his father served only to ignite the flame of his passion for writing and singing traditional roots reggae compositions, on topics of spiritual salvation, edification of his Rastafarian faith and repatriation to the Mother Land.

With and undeniable faith, “Jah’s Messenjah” has been inspiring young and old alike with his messages of hope and love. With a heart that is “pure and clean”, Luciano has written some of the most memorable conscious reggae tracks in recent times. Songs that speak to the soul, appeal to the misguided and offer hope to a generation that some call lost.

For one memorable night, on Monday October 27th, Luciano will perform in Trinidad at the St. John’s Ambulance Hall, which will be transformed for this event into Reggae Park, an authentic cultural and roots reggae-influenced setting that promises to set the mood for an evening of upliftment. Patrons holding tickets for the stage front VIP area will have access to a private premium cash bar and food concessions; separate entrance into the venue, as well as reserved secured parking at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Mr. Sealey of Nu Wave Productions, the company responsible for bringing Luciano to our shores, says that for them, deciding to host Luciano was not only influenced by his popularity and success, but rather his positive philosophy about life. Mr. Sealey feels that the onus is on every individual to do his or her part in turning the society around from the bloodshed and violence. If Luciano’s songs can influence even one young person to choose a different life, one not ruled by the gun, then the event will truly be deemed a success.

Corporate sponsors have come on board to support the venture including Angostura, Blue Waters and Brydens. The excited anticipation for the anointed “instrument of peace” will build even more as the Reggae Park gates open to the public at 9pm. The opening performances start at 11pm with a line-up that includes the internationally acclaimed King David and Jah Melody, who released his debut album under the VP Records label last year.

Tickets are reasonably priced at $150.00 for General Admission and $300.00 VIP They are available at Cleve’s One Stop Music Shop Frederick Street, Crosby’s North and South, Faculty Trincity Mall, Mystic Hemp Ariapita Avenue, Vibe 66 Trincity Mall and Prince Street, Nyabinghi Culture Shop St. Joseph, and all Cache Outlets nationwide.
