Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. September 7, 2011 - He’s on a roll some may say but for the guy who has stuck to eating humble pie all his life, releasing the music as it’s made is just a part of the journey. “ I’m an artiste. That’s all I know. Music is my life,” confesses Shurwayne Winchester, who on the heels of three huge releases in the past month and a half, is about to drop another sexy single.

The people of Trinidad and Tobago are grappling to come to terms with the ongoing curfew limitations and state of emergency and Shurwayne says this makes it even more important for him, as one of Carnival’s big name artistes, to ensure the music is ready in time for December 6th when the government imposed national SOE will come to an end. “ That’s when carnival will start, I’m guessing- of course Christmas first by all means, but we know how the revelers feel about their carnival,” he laughs. Shurwayne is insisting that 2012 promises to bring with it a lot of fresh surprises from his camp.

Following the release of Good Vibrations with Jamaica’s Keida, in early August, followed by Wine on It on the Overproof riddim and then the very endearing Harder on King Bubba’s Rich Boy riddim just about three weeks ago, Shurwayne is dropping Work It on the Fantasy riddim which was produced by Courtney "Curty" Louis of Dutch Productions in St. Lucia, tomorrow ( September 8th ). With a slow, invasive and penetrable vibe, the single is another one that will certainly raise eyebrows as it follows suit to Winchester’s new sexual theme, it seems. He laughs when asked what’s with his sudden sexual inspiration and simply shrugs it off as being a play on words about the women he sees on a daily basis in T&T, and the islands that he frequents. As a songwriter, Shurwayne is constantly putting words together in his mind, so it’s no surprise that in the past few weeks he’s been able to pen a number of tracks, some of which are yet to be recorded but will be in time for the hectic C2K12 season. “ I promise, the music will be coming from all corners. I’m working with producers from everywhere, building good relationships and trying to give fete lovers and people who love music generally, different tastes of soca music,” he says.

He explained that in the weeks and months ahead, there’ll be videos to accompany the tracks, the second of which is the video for Wine On It which in itself, is steamier than many believed Shurwayne could ever come. His first video after C2K11 is already on rotation- that being Good Vibrations with Keida.
