I was doubtful about going to this event because of the rain. It was pounding outside my window and not giving any signs of letting up. I could swear Caliente was going to be called off. However, I got the text that the party was on. I geared up in my boots. Chose the biggest umbrella from my umbrella collection and headed out to the venue. Lawwwd talk bout RAIN!!!! All I kept thinking was thank goodness I wore my boots and who the hell partying in this kind of weather?

As I approached the entrance, to my surprise, there was Ah damn line. Go figure! People from Wet Fete event was lined up with their umbrellas trying to get in.  F.Y.I to all partygoers, I.D’s are a must at TiKi Village.
The security tent had all the accents of vibrant red and yellow hues which immediately perked my interest. The colors somehow warmed the tense and drab mood I had from the time I had left my apartment. The tents and tarp were fully decorated with the same Red and yellow accents and lanterns and offered coverage to large groups of partygoers.

But wait, what am I seeing? People already jamming? Am I seeing things? I guess I was the only one the rain almost stopped.  Hmmm…  I’ve become a true believer of the saying, “The only thing rain does stop is Cricket ". LOL

DJ Anonymous was playing some sweet Soca that had the crowd whining down to the ground and ‘We Rhythm’ provided the riddim along to the music.

Caliente was in full swing and people were having a ball. Hands in the air, cock back moves and bumper to bumper action taking place in this party. I managed to indulge a bit with a few friends too. Lol  Yes!!! It was sweet!!! It seemed like the rain gave this party a blessing. Sounds 4 Life was up next with some old school reggae setting the vibe in a different groove. This session was especially for the lover's inside Tiki Village. I guess the word quickly spread that Caliente was the place to be because, before I even made my way back to the front, groups of new faces were in. As much as the rain was pouring, people were pouring into the venue. Under the trees became Under the Tents!!!

As the saying goes, Trini know how to party. I made my way over to the bar stepping in puddles of water to get a Johnny on the rocks. You know, just to ward off any potential cold ;-). Folks were busy getting there setups too from the barmaids. They were dressed in their bright yellow & red tees which to me gave off a Sunlight effect. Dr Wax was up next. He cranked up the pace and it was at this point I spotted the Caliente crew with legs in the air. The rain finally stopped for a bit and it seemed to be a relief to some. They were free to put umbrella down to carry on. Natural Freaks closed the party on a high and had everyone drenched not from the rain but from sweat, including me.

Hats off to all the people who made it out in D pouring rain to support Under The Trees Promotion. This to me was a true show of love for the crew. Caliente will always be hot because of loyal supporters!!!

Thanks to Sharon, Marcia, Fari and Charisse for having TJJ. It was a pleasure to be here.
