So after a full day of fetein’ we had one more fete left on the agenda for the night. After seeing the GameFace family in almost every fete promoting Amnesia in their colorful tees how could we miss one of Labor Day weekend’s biggest fetes?

In true West Indian form, the place did not start fulling up until after 9pm even though the start time was 10am and ending at 8pm. Walking into the Village and seeing the transformation done by Deco Promotions and Che was astounding. The decor really set off a nice vibe for a very chilly evening. The vibrant hues of blues, yellows and greens, alongside pastel colored banners streamed from one end to the next above us. It was very simple, but provided a very chic and upbeat atmosphere. The DJ stage stood like an island in the center of the venue, with lighting and incased in a truss. The two full bars on both sides of the venue along with food stands and the bathroom towards the back, the GameFace family and the décor crew thought of everything to make the space as comfortable for everyone.

So now that we got the layout we were ready to take in the vibes, music and have a good time. Platinum Kids, Young Chow, D Bandit from Toronto, Sounds 4 Life, Back to Basics, Dr. Wax, Freaks 4 Soca and Natural Freaks handled business on the 1s and 2s making sure we knew winin’ season was in full effect and needed to get it eennn!!!

We spotted a one squad enjoying themselves with what believe it or not amounted to be about 15 bottles of Johnnie Walker Black turned upside down in the shape of a pyramid. They were all smiles, winin’ low and having a good time. Yes, the night was almost over but the party was now heating up for some. Before we knew it, it was midnight and the DJ announced it was the last song and the party was over.

Good vibes, sexy ambiance and great music, although since its Labor Day weekend we think it should be 100% soca, we still had a ball. GameFace you definitely gave us a memorable night and we can’t wait to see what you do next year. Thank you for inviting the TJJ family.
