Do you remember DC Carnival’s #1 Friday night party “Taboo”? Or how about the likes of “DV8” featured in cities such as Atlanta, DC and Miami? And how about ‘LIME South Beach’ last Miami Carnival? Not only shall all inclusive, free drinks, exquisite venues, sexy crowd, and exclusive come to mind, but the name Gresham Events should as well. So when the good Gresham folks decided to partner with TnT’s Scorch with a BYOB (Bring Our Own Boat) theme, “Scorch & LIME” definitely created a buzz for the Miami Carnival 2011 Weekend.

Now choosing which event to attend on the Miami Carnival Saturday is always full and busting with excitement that one may even lose a brain cell (or two) thinking which parties (yes 2 is the minimum) to hit. Chances are though, that the choice would not have been usually influenced by the weather and venue - but Scorch & LIME being as rampant and thrilling as they usually are, making the choice to have an outdoor venue (albeit similar to last year), is kind of worrying bearing in mind the variety of options present. However ... NOT a bad choice at all!

This year’s Scorch & LIME did not feature free drinks, food inclusive or even live performances. And if my memory serves me well, they didn’t have strippers, pole dancers or fire breathers like some of the other Saturday fetes taking place (we’re still hearing stories about Vaughn’s Red Eye) ... No way sir ... a normal party you may think? Are you offended? Not to worry ... Scorch Trinidad Carnival Edition will be around the corner soon. Not that there were the aforementioned at that party BUT what I want you to do is say HI to Scorch & LIME Miami Carnival Edition  - a gleefully crude addition to the Miami Carnival Weekend that proves beyond reasonable doubt that you can party in the RAIN and you DO NOT have to be drunk to enjoy the euphoria! The juggernaut may well have been motored by the rain but it did not lack the essential infusions of music and alcohol. What you should do is consider this latest offering of Scorch and LIME as the entrée to the carnival parade on Sunday and bearing in mind the success from 2010, this may have been a while coming, but that doesn’t make it any less tasty.

It’s the rain, by the way, who has that clinch accompanied by all those international DJs – Richie D, Private Ryan & Back to Basics just to name a few, and of course Mr. Mic Man himself, Hoppy and an extended bout of alcohol intake with respect to the Free Shots that guarantees from the off you get some bang for your buck. No sooner that the rain continues to fall and with a pool on the venue, a couple patrons definitely had their fun jumping in the pool before being removed by security. However, par for the complimentary Hor D'Ooeuvres, there was nothing else to fill your belly on other than the rain falling from the sky and the generous wining and debauchery from friendly gorgeous patrons ... let’s not forget the scantily clad Scorch & LIME hostesses.

With every party let’s cue a string of pre-requisites – easy venue! Spacious venue! Free flowing bar and music pumping from the speakers in the background! I would like think that this would have been seemingly designed to show any inadequacies, especially when set against the uber amount of other parties on the same night and the polished ease of which you can attend any one. However, I can gladly say that there was nothing but adequacy in this fete ... adequate women, adequate wining, adequate fun and without fail an all round great night by all!

Scorch & LIME people behaving badly! Given the tendency to draw out and bore out any fete and every clichéd aspect of a party - the suggestion that this party is going to be more than expected was more of an accumulation of convenient social actions by patrons all together showing a positive yet revolutionary way to party in the rain! With shelter all over and non-shelter - I think the patrons who were IN the rain clearly had more fun that those sheltering from God's blessings. Yet this is not as radical as Scorch and LIME got! The seasoned party got deeper and deeper into the realm of sensual heightening when boorishness, drunkenness, sexual licentiousness from male to female started to take over and at every opportunity than can be possibly thought of! Maybe we’re not so far away from the best Scorch & LIME after all.

OK, so at the end of the melee and excitement - you still have to decide where are you going next - is it Club Bed, with DJ Pillows and Guest Star Duvet Cover or you will go make a final stop for the night and attend one of the popular night fetes - Vale Vibe Miami, RAVE or International Soca Fest? I think some preferred to rather get lost in the crush of Scorch & LIME and re-live the euphoria in their dreams.

Scorch & LIME 2011 Miami Carnival Edition was definitely an event, unwieldy and no way overlong, but if it is you are after a balanced party in life then you would not have found that here instead an abundance of side splitting fun & excitement combined with the lifting of your own self pleasure.
