Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, November 3, 2011 - The young and determined are coming forward with a level of will power to succeed in the soca industry than ever before seen. T&T and the world is being advised to get ready for the penetration of a young Siparia native who’s just about ready to turn things up in a very dramatic way. Khiry Flemming is 17 years old and he’s about to strike.

With a single called, Doh Ease Up, produced by Holy House Production’s Mr. Spine, Flemming who is still in fifth form at the Debe High School, South Trinidad, says he’s guaranteeing that this song will be a hit. With a humble but sure personality, Flemming believes the time has come for him to bite into the soca market and with that his goal ahead of C2K12, the youngster’s prepping for what’s to come.

Khiry’s no new comer, in fact he’s been around music since the age of seven. As a secondary school student, Flemming found himself involved in various school competitions and at the age of 13, his family, noticing his ability, decided to nurture and mould his talent. Khiry was introduced to Ashford Joseph and he was professionally trained vocally for the first time in his young life. It was only the beginning of what would come, as from that point, things took off and soon Khiry would record a gospel single and later a soca parang single he called, Whe De Parang Gone. He was only 13 years old.

Later, the young high school student would record a track called Wine On Me- a single that saw him enter the Soca Star 5 competition in Trinidad. It was no surprise to those who knew him when he made it to the final leg of the competition and while he was not crowned the winner of Soca Star 5, Khiry saw the stage and the opportunity to perform before such a massive audience in a brand new light- one that he would always want to be a part of. The Soca Star experience afforded introductions to the greatest artistes in Soca, among them- Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin and The Millionaire Family. He also met producer, Mr. Spine who he has been working with in recent months. Describing working with Spine as exciting, the youngster who idolizes Michael Jackson and looks up to Machel Montano as an artiste with the greatest stage presence, said he too has been able to erupt on stage, in such a way that people are often caught off guard. “ My personality off stage is very different from when I hit the stage,” he admitted, referring to his on stage presence as explosive.

He’s had the opportunity to show off his ability following his Soca Star 5 appearance. I fact, some might say that Khiry’s been doing big things. As the lead vocalist of a new band out of Siparia called, Acktive Mindz, Khiry has performed for audiences on a numer of accessions at Checkered Flag- a liming spot near Skinner Park in San Fernando. Additionally, Khiry and the band performed this year at former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning’s fete on the hill.

These days though there’s strong focus on Doh Ease Up, a track which was written by Khiry himself and is carded for release in the coming days. According to the youngster, it’s all about one man relating an experience about a dance he had with a female at a club, to another. He is certain that this song will sit well with music lovers of all ages. Aiming for the highest heights, young Khiry Flemming says he will not give up, no matter the struggle. He is a believer in a good fight to the end, and with that attitude, he is assuring that when he strikes in C2K12- everyone will feel the sweetness of his sound.
