We all have that special place where we spend Ole Years Night. For most it’s church or their beds while for others it’s the club or some random location, with some random people, and some random drinks, food and fireworks. I found myself in The Shade only to realise that I got a little bit of all the options...minus the sleep.

We all have that special place where we spend Ole Years Night. For most it’s church or their beds while for others it’s the club or some random location, with some random people, and some random drinks, food and fireworks. I found myself in The Shade only to realise that I got a little bit of all the options...minus the sleep.

The vibe started with the perfect playlist of techno and house music to end the old year. As the countdown came close, the music got turned down, the bottles of Moet came out and the glasses we’re raised high.  The toast to the New Year was perfectly accompanied by colourful fireworks a kisses for the couples. With the fireworks done, the DJ took the crowd, if only for a minute,   to a little church with some conscious vibes. After that the real party started with the $20 shot specials of Patron, Jagermeister, Sambuca, Goldschlagger and Tequila...I NEVER FELT MORE FLAMABLE.

Maybe it was the fire-water, or the seamless transition of sweet soca tracks by the likes of DJ Gizmo & DJ Red, or maybe it was just sheer anticipation for the New Year.  All I know is there was just no better way to start the New Year that with good friends, good drinks, good food and a overall good vibe.

(you know the vibe was good when the photographer wasn’t getting a chance to do much photographing...)
