Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. February 7, 2012 -- With all systems in place to give away a brand new vehicle courtesy Toyota Trinidad Limited, organisers of this year’s Army Fete experience are expecting an outpouring of patrons from all walks of life this coming Friday night. Safety, a word that consistently pops up in any conversation about the fete, is being beefed up with various strategic elements of security being implemented this year. Many would agree that over the years Army Fete has maintained an order that is appreciated by attendees, most, if not all of whom would agree that no other Carnival fete offers such a high level of security and defense.

This year, the 50th anniversary celebration of the Trinidad and Tobago regiment coincides with the fete and so, patrons attending can expect an over the top showcase of soca superstars, energy and carnival enjoyment. “We want this year’s experience to seal the deal in the minds of patrons. We want them to know that at the end of the day, this is ‘the’ fete they should never miss in carnival- no matter what,” said one event spokesperson. He highlighted that a number of top entertainers had been booked for the show, among them, Shurwayne Winchester and his band, Y.O.U., Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons and Asylum, Roy Cape All Stars featuring Blaxx, Kes the Band, JMC Trivini featuring K.I. with his smash hit, Single Forever, and many other top entertainers. “Patrons who want to enjoy the fete from a different angle have the choice of relaxing in the VIP area and enjoying the premium carnival experience with drinks all night long and food as well,” said the spokesperson. He mentioned that VIP tickets were being sold for $500, however couple tickets were available for $800 a pair.

Traditionally, Army fete welcomes many tourists who come to T&T for the season. “We know that by this weekend many people from abroad will be coming in so we’re looking forward to welcoming them as usual,” said the rep. Visitors can look forward to the real thrill of Trini carnival at Army Fete 2012 and with the 50th anniversary celebration atop the agenda this year, they’re being guaranteed an even bigger showcase. “Some of this carnival’s biggest solo acts will also be there. People like Kerwin Du Bois, Swappi, Iwer George, JW and Blaze and Farmer Nappy will give the crowd great music to enjoy themselves to,” said the military representative.

Army Fete takes place at the spacious Queen’s Park Savannah, a venue that offers patrons secure parking and not to mention, a lot of room to move around. The Toyota sedan will be given away on show night to one lucky patron who has been texting the word ‘CAR’ to 2769 on the their Bmobile handsets throughout the promotional period. “This is just another big perk of the event. We’re thankful for the support extended by Bmobile and Toyota in making this all possible. Now, we want patrons to just come out, free up and have some good, clean fun. This is what carnival is all about.”
