A carnival cruise that discovers the every eccentric and wild emotion that you could possibly discover in your body; makes you even think 'how did I not know I could feel this way?' ....

Of all the carnival cruises that have the very power of playing mostly soca, Silent Morning has one of the best names! Without a doubt and no argument necessary upon hearing the name 'Silent Morning' (even though an iconic song by Noel) it hints at a reckless insouciance and a thrilling thirst for excitement that were both PARTIALLY absent from its 2012 installment. It can and was seen as a broadly incoherent carnival cruise that some will say that if it was not for Duke falling from the sky then the impressive vibe that this cruise has been known for will be amiss.

This year with the change of boats or should I say vessels, the Coral Vision was a foul astonishment of a vessel. On two levels, with various space to mark your territory and numerous bars and the despicable location of the DJ booth, overall this vessel was horrible, although amicably accepted by patrons thanks to the Duke. Two points of mention here:

  1. The Sound System was utter rubbish ... utter ... ; and
  2. The bathroom situation was a complete entertaining sitcom with women urinating in the male bathroom and males urinating in showers.

With the increase in vessel size comes the other side of the equal sign which is .... More People ... Albeit, there was massive success last year, it warranted a change in vessel size - but the necessary drama still took place. Entry to the vessel is always a dramatic experience for Silent Morning and I am beginning to think that this is entirely part and parcel of the Silent Morning Experience! This year however, there was an added layer of excitement or should I say ... "Sprinkles" ... How can the vessel depart still being tied to the pier!?!

Moving along ... with soca being the pertinent factor on this boat and an all star line up of Disc Jockeys and Mic Men, we would expect the vibe and mere exuberance of mind pleasure to be seriously high! This was amiss for the majority of the cruise. Not only did DJs play over old school sessions, furthermore when Duke began to smear the boat with its droplets instead of playing power and pumping soca ... old school soca was played? Addressing the vessel again, due to the Duke some patrons began standing on one side and hence the numerous mentions from the Mic Men to please "spread out on the vessel" .... *raises eyebrow*

With all this being said, I am not going to fail to report that patrons enjoyed themselves. Without fail, a cruise, soca music, some techno, some old house music, and the Duke ... the vibes was very much present and will not be a stick in mud and say that it was not. I am however, not going to leave out the fact that .... Silent Morning 2011 WAS BETTER! BETTER! BETTER! BETTER! ..... See For Yourself ... (click link)

A few quotes before I leave ....

"That man could talk, what more do you guys expect, he just like the government, asking him to shut up would make no sense, he would still talk!"
"Why is he playing old school soca when the rain is falling?"
"Didn't we just hear old school soca??!!!"

Silent Morning 2012 ... A Shocker ... It Was Good ... But A Shocker ... You will definitely see me next year again as I do enjoy the vibe and amicable presence of the people but this year was a lime ... it was not a party ...
