First of all... when I first heard the theme for IPmas 2012 presentation was 'Heroes', I was uber excited. I went into badass mode one time. I blame Sucker Punch as I had just seen it, and also Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. I loved the ideas of “innocent” females like me, being given the opportunity to express themselves in a heroic, badass way and it not be about pretending at Halloween. Thank you ISLANDpeople for choosing a theme that allowed us to portray our inner hero!

ISLANDpeople if it is one thing you know how to do it is to push the envelope, albeit sometimes a bit too far for the general Trini public. But I appreciated the badass costumes which is perhaps why I was one of only about 6 people in the bestest costume you had this year – Ecilpse. Loved!

Monday was so nice. OMG Monday always goes by way too fast. I would give anything and accept any excuse to be able to wear my Hero Monday Wear hot shorts again. The colours and design made us look fierce. Loved. Thank You. One of the most exciting parts about Monday is looking to see how everyone else brought it to their Monday Wear. How they adapted it, changed it, or even ditched it to make Monday their own Carnival! This year we were given a rather short top and hot hot heroic shorts, that borrowed some spice from Wonder Woman, but left nothing else much to wonder about. So hot!

Monday’s route was the best, I wish that could be the route we take every year, every time. No sticking, just chipping down the road, music moving, drinks flowing, vibes building, heroes pumping and stressing away. That was this Carnival Monday hands down.

It was clear to me that no matter what issues anyone may or may not have had with their costumes they defiantly made up for it in fun on the road and had a time. I saw it and felt it. And the vibes were contagious for the entire day.

Lunch was yummy. I think I had food from Flare which was better than most restaurant take outs, so you could imagine my satisfaction and glee at the quality and taste of a Carnival Monday Lunch box courtesy Flare. I still missing the drinks truck in or even closer to where people are actually eating though. I want to have as much down time as possible and going back and forth between collecting food and getting drinks during lunch ‘break’ still isn’t cool. That being said, the drinks trucks were on point. All servers were helpful and patient and I loved how they were all consistent in making sure you could see them pour your drinks, which is a standard Bartender etiquette 101 rule. From my asking around to friends in other bands, I am not sure that is the norm everywhere, so big up to all IPmas food and drink providers and thanks for contributing to my fun!

After The Stage which was the most fun ever pumping to Machel, and after Lunch we headed through St. James and then, back down the Foreshore, which was just the best vibes, best music, and why it must all end I will never understand. I wish everyone I know near and far could experience the perfect ISLANDpeople Monday Carnival on the road with their friends the way I did. Loved it. Bess Carnival ever! Thank You IP!
