New York, NY (Sonique Solutions) – International promotional outfit ShorBlu Events will celebrate its 5th anniversary in the realm of specialty entertainment production. The group of forward-thinking, young ambassadors for Caribbean culture will commemorate this occasion on May 6th with its signature springtime event “Sutra” which is dubbed “Sutra de Mayo” for its 2012 edition.

The New York based entity is still receiving rave reviews for its recent March concert initiative “Kes All In” which showcased Trinidad and Tobago’s Kes the Band, David Rudder, Benjai and Swappi in full concert at Manhattan’s Best Buy Theatre. Even with such a successful show under their belts there seems to be no slowing down for the members of the Shor Blu team as they have an onslaught of premium events set for the rest of 2012.

The promoters promise that Sutra de Mayo will epitomize the winning combination of creativity, class and detail which they pump into each of their highly anticipated productions. The soiree on May 6th will take place at the luxurious 404 Lounge located at 404 10th Avenue at 33rd St. NY and will feature nothing short of top notch vibes in a chic Manhattan venue, with a beautiful collection of premium West Indian entertainment lovers partying to music provided by world class DJ’s.

5 years ago the members of ShorBlu came together to appease a need in the diasporal market i.e. a need for more upscale Caribbean events in stylish, metropolitan venues, with elaborate themes and diverse concepts. Today, the group’s principal members: Curtis Marshall, Andre Martindale and Randall Bourne continue to present well executed, quality productions with a distinct island vibe and major crossover appeal.

Boasting a collection of modern day staples in the North American/Caribbean event calendar, ShorBlu’s mission is to further fuel the presence of Caribbean Culture on a mainstream, global scale. ShorBlu, which previously facilitated the NYC presentation of famed T&T mas band Tribe produces the longest running weekly Caribbean after work series ‘Vice Thursdays’ (which will be co-branded alongside cable network ‘Tempo’), annual theme parties including ‘Cocktails’, ‘Risque’, ‘Bluvino: The Wine & Music Festival’ and Miami Carnival favourites such as ‘Lime’ and ‘Miami Vice’.
