Ladies and gentlemen, please log on to www.trinijunglejuice.com, click on Photos menu, then click on "Carnival Action". There you will see our "Carnivals of the World" calender ... the carnivals that have stood out the most, that have made a difference on a global stage, the carnivals that have grown continuously and more importantly the carnivals that advertise with Trini Jungle Juice! The reason for saying all of this is that... just 5years ago, Atlanta Carnival was not on this list! No Sir! Today, in their 24th year of their Carnival celebration, the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival has now become a main event to attend.... it is now one of OUR... (and hopefully YOURS) CARNIVAL CALENDAR EVENTS!

WITHOUT A DOUBT.....this year Atlanta Carnival claimed one of the biggest turnouts in their 24yr history. Some of the biggest names on the Soca scene were present in the GA capital on Memorial Day weekend. Just amazing. ACCBA, the governing body for the Carnival celebrations, teamed up with local promoters to help make this year's Atlanta Carnival a true success. With names like Machel Montano, Kerwin DuBois, Iwer George, Benjai, Jadine, Lyrical, Talpree and Alison Hinds just to name a few, what more can you ask for? Not much....Well you can....What did you say? What about the DJ's? Well sure thing...Some of the Caribbean's top DJ's as well were seen on the road during the parade....DJ Stephen, DJ Jaspa, DJ Touches, One Drop Sounds, DJ MaddFlava, DJ Tony Tempo, DJ Thunder, just to name a few...lit up the streets with music and the Carnival Revellers paraded through the streets...you cannot ask for more.....WELL YOU CAN.....What? Which top website covered the entire event? You must be joking....TrinijungleJuice.com....DUH!

During the parade of the bands, the streets were clearly littered with people. All different colors shapes and sizes carried either large smiles, flags, drinks or some form of paraphernalia that represented where they were from. The people were beautiful and were in full support of the festival. Other than the DJ's on the Trucks, Soca Diva Jadine, Giselle the Wasi One were see enjoying the road prior to the bands crossing the stage. As for the bands, this is the first year that the ACCBA has had soooooo many bands participation. With MaddFlava, We Kinda Ting, Thunderbirds USA and MaddColors all representing, this was just a taste of the overall parade.

The parade was started on Peachtree Street promptly at 12noon and ended on Auburn Ave at the festival village. We still believe that there is a better venue out there for the committee to explore, but we will see....If it's not broken, don't fix it! The day was beautiful....80' degrees...slight winds to the NW blowing at 5 miles an hour....and waist throwing 100 miles an hour....everything else was gravy! Ambiance wise, the place was very clean and well organized. Pat and Karen, you guys did a great job getting the place cleaned up and ready to go for all patrons.

Ohhhhh boyyyy...I cannot talk enough about the vibes for the parade of the bands. It was fantastic. The MaddFlava and they krew roll rel deep this year and had we parading with them big time. Kevin, Krista and de krew...allyuh nice...Then was the Band of the Year...We Kinda Ting band that had the biggest band on the road. Congrats! The vibes in that band was non stop! This year all the other bands stepped up their game and made the work difficult for the judges to choose a winner. If they had to judge waist throwing to soca music...boy oh boy...they might still be tallying scores.

The variety of food from vendors on the street was the best I've seen. Quality was on point because yuh know in every kitchen yuh had a moms or two that could rel do it up! And for the artists and other workers..we had a small bar in the back with some best jerk chicken, roti, rice and peas...ahhh mean....they really made sure things were in place. I must mention that because of the temperature as well, the staff ensured that water kept flowing.

In all the years I have been traveling to Atlanta Carnival, I am yet to receive anything less than the best service. The promoters/organizers went far and beyond the call of duty for Trinijunglejuice. Over the years, just as much as we have taken care of them on our site in promoting the carnival, ACCBA has done a fantastic job by ensuring all our needs are met. I must mention a few people...Pat and Karen...we love you guys! Thanks for the hospitality. You both did a fantastic job. Junia and Tasha you both worked tirelessly and did a great job making sure everyone is taken care of...Tasha..that plate of food you put out for me...wow,..it was on point! And to the volunteer staff...thank you for your kindness and all the hard word to make Atlanta Carnival a success. Thanks for treating TJJ like royalty. We love you all!

The cost of the event was $15.00 Worth it! Worth it! Worth it! Burning Flames, Talpree, Skinny Fabulous, Kerwin DuBois, DJ Stephen, Dj Kevy Kev, Tony Tempo, Giselle De Wasi One, MC Wassi, Iwer George, Jadine, Tantro Metro and Devonte, Pumpa, Revolution Band etc etc...all for $15.00....Need we say more???? Done!

Ladies and Gentleman....Atlanta Carnival 2012 was the best way to kick off the US Carnivals....they not only set the standard high...but they proved why they deserve to be one of Trinijunglejuice's calendar events. Every other carnival now has to follow. Much respect to all the DJ's who made sure the music was flowing, respect to the artists/entertainers for your diligent and consistent efforts and fantastic performances, respect to all the volunteers who do not get the respect they deserve at times...Much love to you guys...I must shout out Tantro Metro and Devonte. It was great to see you guys live! Jadine, as always its good to see you. With that being said, if we forget anyone...Doh Fraid..we love you too!!!!
