Project Override: Alternative Rock Band
Project Override is a new alternative rock band ready to showcase their talent to Trinidad and Tobago. Establishing themselves in October 2011, the members have dedicated themselves to developing and contributing to local alternative music. “Trinidad and Tobago has a lot of talent, however it is rarely seen, Project Override not only intends to showcase our own music, but to also partner with other musicians to develop our local rock industry” stated band manager Jeremy Anil Mangalsingh.
Having performed at J’malone’s, Woodford Cafe and other popular locations, the band is ready to deliver their talents at little or no cost to their supporters. Their first show was recently held at The Rise in Chaguanas (June 13th) in collaboration with many local artistes. These included Digicel Rising Star Finalist, Iziah Kanhai and Trinidad and Tobago’s only local pop singer, John Tho. The collaborative effort was open to the public free of charge in order to encourage support for a growing industry.
Lead singer of Project Override Joshua Boodram played a very critical role in bringing Project Override to the forefront. “Project Override has already begun experimenting with a host of genres, and it is our intention to produce music that is positive, uplifting and inspirational” stated Joshua. He further explained that the band has already begun experimenting with different genres of music such as rap, pop and soca. They have all collectively received positive feedback on all their musical productions and performances.
The band is looking forward to a series of performances during the July/August vacation while showings support for new and upcoming artistes. “We would like any new artiste to approach us and we would gladly assist in giving you a spot to showcase your talent. It’s a small industry and we must support each other in order to sustain it,” remarked Jeremy. Please make sure to check out Project Override on Facebook and Youtube.
