So after a major thunder storm swept the DMV area, and over 1 million people were without power, I was surprised to see so many people came out for Sprang International's  25 year anniversary celebration. YES, I said 25 years!!! De boy musta been what... 5 yrs old when he started the sound crew?? ;)

We were greeted at the door by the lovely ladies of SI, looking oh so cute in their SI tops. By the time I arrived, the party was in full swings. DJ Majestic was playing reggae tunes and my boy Nemesis was on the mic hyping the crowd. Also in the house was TJJ's own Freshly Squeezed, taking a picture and a wine. Since my camera was not trying to co-operate that night, I made an  executive decision to put down my gear and join the party.

It was so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. There was so much energy in the fete that the AC could barely handle it. I mean, the place was hotter than outside....and this is incredible since we have been having record breaking heat in the area! So they say hydration is a must for surviving this heat... so off to the bar we go!

DJ Ghost, C-Nyce, 100 proof were also in the house. Music was on point, I heard old school R&B, soca and everything in between. Darren aka Mr. Sprang International, closed down the party, playing 2012 soca. Well the heat went off the scale...pure madness! Then the dreaded part of the night followed...lights came on and security was escorting us out. Fete done.

But of course no one wanted to go home. People were outside liming, some even wining and singing while some fella played iron. Even some garbage men stopped their truck in the middle of the road to enjoy the view ;).

Thank you SI for 25 years of great music...looking forward to 25 more years!! As you all say.. "All We Need Is Music"

Battling the DC heat one degree at a time,
