Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. September 25, 2012 -- The emergence of another Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago brings with it, an unimaginable number of music releases. Already, Miami is sending something down to add to the mix and this one, according to the New York based management team that’s handling the artistes on the riddim, is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

The Scatter Riddim is ready to be unleashed in T&T. The riddim was produced by a highly respected producer out of Miami, known simply as IronTraxx; in fact, if you’re wondering who he is, note that he was responsible for the production of Mr. Chucky’s hit single Touch It in 2012 and the music for breakthrough artiste, Sizwe C who delivered Wine On You in 2009. Now, IronTraxx is at it again and as is expected, he’s early.

The singles on the riddim are all unique as they come from three artistes with very different backgrounds. The first single showcases the trio of Daddy Chinee, Big Drew and Charlee Way on a catchy number aptly entitled, Dancing. The guys then disband to deliver solo offerings on the riddim.

Daddy Chinee offers his very own single called Stagarrah or The Drinker’s Anthem. Then, infusing his Latin flair to the soca riddim, Charlee Way delivers a song simply called, La-Ra-Ra-Ra-Ra. Big Drew rounds off the riddim with his single, No Behaviour- a song that lends to the true spirit of carnival revelry that will unfold in 2013.

Each of these artistes have a story as you’d well imagine but in 2013, they’re making every attempt to inject their flavour and spirit into T&T’s carnival enjoyment. Daddy Chinee has joined the frontline of crossover local band, Rishi Gyadeen and the T&TEC Guyatones and according to his management, the bookings have been coming in quite consistently. Already, the band has secured, what they coin as all the major all-inclusive chutney events for 2013.

The second artiste- T&T born, Florida based Big Drew, has been silently making his personality and spirit felt via his music. Over the years, he’s released a number of tracks virally, via YouTube and his skills have been receiving pretty good reviews. Bent on creating ‘feel-good’ music, which he says will, from time to time, contain serious messages, Big Drew’s most recent release prior to the music on the Scatter Riddim was a track called Feel Nice on the KIS riddim, in 2011.

The third artiste on the Scatter riddim hails from Puerto Rico and even with his success on the Latin market, he has constantly professed his love for the vibrance and energy of Soca music. He has yearned to be a part of the Soca fraternity and with this, a major release for 2013, Charlee Way hopes that his long awaited introduction to the market has come. Prior to this attempt, Charlee Way had collaborated with Big Drew on a number of singles, among them, a song called, No Tune on the Rich Boy riddim earlier this year.

The three artistes are connected through their affiliation with a US based team who recently founded an online space they call, Soca Is Yours. According to the group’s co-founder, George Luke, the overall aim is to get the wider world familiar with Soca music. Together with German DJ Helge Nightliva, Luke says they plan on exposing as many Caribbean Soca artistes to the mainstream music market via the connections they’ve each made over the years.
