The Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Tobago will undergo the first of many upgrades as the Sports Company of Trinidad Tobago continues the rollout of their programme of stadium upgrades for 2013.

Led by renowned German contractor, Berth Hammers, and assisted by local contractor, Brian Ibrahim of the Fitness Centre Limited, the Stadium will undergo a range of improvements, with specific attention being paid to the track and playing field in the first phase of works.

Minister of Sport Anil Roberts said of the project, “The Dwight Yorke Stadium is receiving much needed upgrade work to this facility. Tobago has produced some of the most successful athletes of this year’s Olympic Games. The training facilities for these men and women as well as the newest crop of athletes should therefore be of the highest standards and reflect the gratitude and pride they brought to Trinidad and Tobago”.

The works at Dwight Yorke Stadium will be completed by April 2013.
