Rama! Rama! Rama! ... If you hear the people chanting Saturday night! By sun up Sunday morning partygoers were singing a different tune.

Rama 2013 was nowhere close in terms of excitement and raw energy as its predecessor. I’m talking about D’ Rama that was advertising over mainstream radio stations even before Santa started gassing up the old sleigh. Blame it on the short season, you could blame it on over hype, but to the general public the event felt somewhat disorganized and clumsy.

Rama 2012, in terms of vibes, one couldn’t have told the difference between general and VIP, everybody was getting on bad. 2013, blame it on the awkwardly placed barrier between them, leaving VIP little to no front stage presence; you could blame it on the bright stadium lighting.  Parking was another general concern for party goers as most of them had to park on the streets, much to the liking of both bandits and the Port of Spain Viking, Louis. Not all was bad!

Various outstanding performances kept the event buoyant; Fay-ann, Bunji, HD, Swappi and Destra, just to name a few. Based on my experience last year, I really anticipated having a better time ... who knows there’s always next year; let’s hope third time’s the charm.
