The summer has arrived with a great mid week catalyst..... Float! A pair of cruises, June 26th & 27th, as part of the Summer Splash Concert series on the Infinity Yacht leaving from the Lower West Side. This elegant boat was a perfect mix for Machel Montano, Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy to 'fog up' the place.

Once on board there was red snapper shrimp, stew chicken, steamed veggies and rice. There was something to satisfy all palates. We set sail at 9:30pm with a magnificent view of the city on the left and our neighbor Hoboken on the right. Smooth is an under statement. If I didn't look out the window or stand on deck I would have bet we were on land. Numerous levels with ample room inside and outside with an A-list of DJs that kept the crowd going UNTIL the show started.

Machel opened with 'She Ready' and it appeared is was the perfect song to get this crowd amped to go. Machel also brought  'FOG' ...... and also the 'HEAT'. VIP and general were very hot, however the Dubai like temperature didn't stop these floaters. The only time the boat felt rocky was once the show started and the jumping commenced!  Machel did hits like 'Big Truck', 'Toro', 'Advantage' etc and left us with anticipation of the next day's show full of surprises.

As the party sailed into Thursday the weather didn't cooperate with the plans of great scenery and warmth.  The Thursday crowd matched the weather and was not on their best behavior in regards to double M. The girls front stage insisted on becoming part of the show and security had to physically remove some naughty floaters. And there were stories of someone being slapped by Machel's security due to their behavior. VIP was not excluded from this... a cup coming from VIP landed on stage next to Machel. This did not sit well with him as he quickly addressed the crowd saying, "We don't do disrespect!"

Wednesday and Thursday events were like night n day as far as the crowd was concerned. However, Machel did his best to please us from his plethora of hits with energy that was consistent from one show to the next.
