Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – Dec 16th, 2008:- Trinidadian based Luna Road Ltd, a company dedicated to providing mediums for the safety of drivers’ globally, is embarking upon a special campaign geared towards both bringing awareness about nighttime road safety to the masses and effectively implementing projects to achieve this goal, especially in this high-risk Christmas into Carnival season.

Luna Road Ltd. specializes in designing, manufacturing, supplying and installing unique, high technology "cat's eyes” containing Light Emitting Diodes, which illuminate the courses of roads and highways, for miles in front of drivers. These Luna Road Lights are not only environmentally friendly but remove the need for the reflection of cars’ headlights for illumination, as in the case of conventional retro-reflective road markers. These lights store solar energy during the day, which is used to beautify the roads at night as well as provide a much needed precautionary measure against car accidents.

Richard N. Sabga of Luna Road Ltd (a survivor of a serious car accident), believes that this is an essential initiative especially during this particular Christmas into Carnival period, when there are usually numerous vehicular accidents and road fatalities, primarily at nights involving persons traveling to and from parties and concerts. Mr. Sabga is optimistic that this effort will encourage other eco-friendly trends in the country.
With eight completed projects in Trinidad and Tobago under its belt, including the Chevron areas in front of the Movie Towne Complex and on the Western Main Road, Cocorite, Luna Road Ltd. now looks to future endeavours.

The company continues to express its deep gratitude to sponsors and collaborators such as The Ministry of Works and Transport - HighwaysDivision / Traffic Management Branch and the Highways Beautification Programme, Guardian General Insurance Ltd and Unilever Caribbean Limited. Without the cooperation of these entities, the Luna Road Plan and Vision could not have been executed.

During this festive time of the year, Luna Road Ltd, will continue to be a light of positive change and contribute to national road safety, throughout the period of Christmas dinners, Carnival fetes and beyond.

“We believe in saving lives, preserving the environment, and beautifying night-time roads”... (Richard N. Sabga, of Luna Road Ltd)
