Stars Shine for OCEAN Style FashionShowcase Weekend

(Montego Bay, Jamaica. November 5, 2013). The air was buzzing with anticipation for Hollywood stars Vivica Fox, Anthony Anderson, Chuy Bravo, Omar Benson Miller and Flex Anderson to arrive in Jamaica. And with appearances by Reggae stars Tifa and Tanya Stephens along with athletes Lennox Lewis (former undisputed heavyweigfht champion), Eric Dickerson (NFL Legend), Verron Haynes (Superbowl Winner) and Donovan Bailey (Olympic Champion), the OCEAN Style four day FashionShowcase Weekend presented by Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum, delivered the promised star power.
For internationally renowned stylist Phillip Bloch Thursday night's Rip the Strip “was a cool, urban street fashion fair by the sea, at the intersection of sexy and stylish for my friends Vivica A. Fox, BJ Coleman, Anthony Anderson and Flex Alexander. We enjoyed gettin' it turnt up with Montego Bay’s style soldiers." The Rip the Strip designers included Ameila Morgandy, Koi, Coxygirl, Pablo Palair and GSUS. High style was just one element on show, as Digicel’s brand ambassador, Tifa had the locals and the guests rocking to the beat and surprise artiste Tanya Stephens had the audience begging for more.

From Thursday night’s Rip the Strip festivities move to Friday night's Eyes Wide Shut All-White party at the historic Rose Hall Great House. The invitation-only crowd mingled and feted in the elegantly appointed space sipping on Appleton Estate and SKYY cocktails while being fed from Decadent Catering, Marguerite's and Biggs. The party wound down at midnight and then guests moves to Blue Beat on the Hip Strip to the SKYY Blue After Party. Saturday morning started bright and early at The Tryall Club as the OCEAN Style Celebrity Golf Tournament teed off at the historic golf course. Saturday evening saw 500 invited guests embracing the theme of "GLAMOUR" and heading to the FashionShowcase at the Montego Bay Convention Center. Despite a deluge prior to the start, which saw many guests arrive late, the event played out to a ful-house with models from the US, Kingston and Montego Bay commanding the runway. The show was produced by Norwayne Anderson along with Weston Haughton. After the show the After Party space was revealed and guests partied right along with the stars until the wee hours of the night with Celebrity DJ MC Lyte on the turntables on the LED dancefloor.
After a rocking night, golfers were back at The Tryall Club early the following morning for the inaugural Anthony Anderson Golf Classic.
The weekend’s attendees experienced a celebration of fashion, golf and nightlife that allowed them to see and feel the essence of Montego Bay, Jamaica. As this year’s roster of events wove its way from the Old Hospital Park on the Hip Strip, to the fabled grounds of the Rose Hall Great House, from the Montego Bay Convention Centre, all the way to the hallowed grounds of the Tryall golf course. The 2013 OCEAN Style FashionShowcase Weekend promised and it delivered.
Omar Benson Miller of CSI Miami fame stated “I had a magical time on the wonderful island of Jamaica. Sweating, dancing, laughing and eating authentic Jamaican cuisine guaranteed a memorable and unique experience! RESPECT.”
